FULHAM have Ali Faurlin in their sights â and are ready to make a double swoop for the QPR midfielder in the same week the Whites took Adel Taarabt on loan. Fulham coach Billy McKinlay, partnered by ex-defender Ian Pearce, were in the Loftus Road crowd that saw the Argentine return to first-team action in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. And Chronicle sport has learned the Premier League side are interested in a player who would compliment Taarabt in a midfield down to just one long-term regular at the end of last season. Rangers would prefer to broker a loan after chairman Tony Fernandes made it plain the playmaker was very much part of long-term plans if Rs regain their Premier League status. The supremo, ever ready to tap 140 characters of opinion tweeted this week: âTo clear any doubt. Ale (sic) faurlin I hope gets back to the form. He's my favourite hoop. A model professional. Hope he gets to prove himself.â But boss Harry Redknapp may have other plans to improve midfield options, especially after he allowed Faurlin to go on loan to Palermo last season. The player has only one year left on his QPR contract and is attracting interest elsewhere in the Premier League as well as France and Italy. But a source close to Faurlin revealed a temporary move to Craven Cottage would be ideal for both parties. âAli could team up with Adel and both could play with their eyes closed, they know each otherâs games that well,â said the insider. That TF tweet is at least a fortnight old, sounds like a cobbled together filler piece;....... Probably going to happen so.
not sure if Harry is that bigger fan of Faurlin but I think he could be crucial to our chances of promotion
No!!!!!!!!! Up there for MOTM against Wednesday. He is not Aadel Taraabt but he is a play maker. Crazy if we lose him IMO.
you don't know what to believe here, but the chronicle are usually bang on the money, especially if it comes from paul warburton, and faurlin is in danger of going because 1 year left on his contract if that is correct, that would rule out a loan move, because after a year he would become a free agent, or could it be his agent trying to get him a new contract, I would say at this moment in time, there is nothing in it, though I rate him for what I have seen of him
Good point ... we could bring a few rangers boys along and make some noise. Rent a crowd I have liked watching Fulham in the past but really proud I am a hoop. when people say QPR it just sounds great
Is Harold a Fulham fan because he obviously wants them to do well this season........ Somebody ie Phil Beard sit Ale down and sort out his contract, surely they have seen that his style of play is ideally suited to the Championship.....
As others have said, it would be both short-sighted and foolish if we allowed this to happen. So it's a nailed on certainty that it will. Maybe we could include Derry and Hill as part of the package while we're at it? We're in the Championship now, so it obviously makes total sense to clear out our only remaining players from when we won the thing a couple of seasons ago..
I support HR's strategy of only having players in the squad who actually want to be at QPR. No one is surprised that AT has jumped ship but it could well be that AF also believes he needs to be at a top level club at his stage in his career. Just because he doesn't shout and stamp his feet doesn't mean he isn't seriously angling for a move behind the scenes. And I doubt he has any naive loyalty for QPR left after he was shipped out last year. If he wants to stay then I assume HR and TF are making every effort to make him happy but if he wants away then we are better off accepting that than having an unsettled player at the heart of our team.
I'd have hoped the same for Mackie.... The players that don't want to play are being kept away from the squad. Faurlin is in the squad. He's playing and doing well. If true, madness.
I sincerely hope this story is bollocks, but the issue is not players who don't want to be at the club, its players that Redknapp wants out of the club. He has a long record of having favourites (Zamora anyone) and exiles who never get a look in. The fact that Ale has started the first 2 games of the season make me hope that he is not in the latter camp.
so far there is nothing in it at all, just a quick scouting trip, might be trying to get Zamora back lol
