Had a little look earlier NASS and have a real sneaky for MINGUN BELL in that one. You obviously fancy one!
I really like Grilletto who to me looks like one who could excel on this deep surface. Nice draw to get a good position too. Then we have the Ellison horse in the last, surely that is a plot?
Whispering Lady - 3.10 Haydock 8/1 Absolutely blew the start LTO and must have gave 10lengths or so to the field but finished 4l behind the winner(in last albeit)
2:10 Haydock - Opus Maximus 7/1 3:50 Brighton - Bollin Judith 10/1 5:35 Sligo - Donatis Comet 6:00 Southwell - Tez No prices on the last two yet but expecting them to be fairly short
14.20- Brighton- Maria Montez 2/1 NAP Super Sebs only ride at brighton today; She is very consistent - having posted some back to back good place efforts and is now dropping back from 6f which will suit
Morning, team. Hope everyone A, OK. I spoke yesterday about having a ‘live ‘un’ for today but whereas he still goes to post unfortunately the race has cut up somewhat as only 3 beasts take the old boy on. However, in saying that quotes of 13/8 are still available re him which, upon reflection, I think are actually quite generous. Let’s hope he’s a ‘have’ and not a ‘have not’ and that he wins this eve ‘in another country’. Ernest Hemmingway (6.45 Leopardstown) – something of a late maturing 4YO who recorded a career best effort last time when romping home in the ‘Curragh Cup’. I had hoped connections would have kept him in last months ‘King George VI’ as I believed he would have had solid each-way claims in that heat, at a huge price, but they have stuck to the plan of coming here and then the ‘Irish St Leger’ where I would expect the old boy to break ‘Little’ Mikey Owen’s heart. Judging on what Ernest Hemmingway did last time out he’s improving at a rapid rate and expect that development to continue tonight. Is certainly in the right hands and the good to firm ground will hold no fears. Good luck, crew.
Morning all. Just the one for me today - Drahem 3-10 Haydock. The way Mr Fanshaw is firing right now he could probably train my old mum to win the London marathon. Good luck chaps.
If anything wins the 4.50 at Brighton the universe could return to a singularity. One of the worst races ive ever seen and anyone betting more than a score out of sheer desperation on any of those animals needs help. Azelle has some maiden form that looks good in the context of the race but that disguises the fact she is a dog of the highest order who could end up rated 45 in a couple of months. Warbond is probably overpriced at 20s even if he doesnt get the mile and Poor La Victoire could win by default but if someone put a gun to my head I would tell them to shoot me.
Oh and well I’m on. Lieutenant Miller raised 3 lbs after his gallant effort at ‘Glorious’ Gooders last week. He’ll now have an easy couple of weeks and then be aimed at the Cesarawitch which has had a big cash injection, don’t forget, and is now worth a cool quarter of a million quid. No trainer has a better record in this race in recent years than Mr Henderson so the Lieutenant should be a leading, leading player. Meanwhile, I’m intrigued to see that the ‘Lingers Park Derby Trial’ winner, Nevis, is now in training ‘Down Under’. Always liked him and wondered why he so suddenly just seemed to 'disappear'. He hasn’t run since but has been entered in the Cox Plate and Caulfield Cup (as has Mr Henderson's Forgotten Voice). Nevis, could you would think even be a Melbourne Cup possible.
