James McClean set for transfer into the Championship with Wigan

Not just one comment from someone on the internet, dozens, read the posts. You would think he had committed murder. People have been going on for months in various local media outlets and telling others how they should think and act over this issue. If we don't agree we are outcasts in their eyes. I don't intend to let them take away my right to think and say as I please. This is supposed to be a free country. I didn't say whether I agreed with McClean's stance but I defend his right to have it. If that sounds staggering then so be it, but it is my protest. Now they can snipe at me.

 

Did I need to be? It took a government tribuneral twenty years to uncover the truth. Were you there?

At the end of the day this is a football forum. He wasnt a very good footballer, hence why im over the moon he has left (everything else is irrelevant). Im glad he has gone as i could not sit through another game of him running in a straight direction until he ran face first into another player.

 

Why do his political views matter so much to people - as I said before, if he played like Ronaldo every week and scored 45 goals a season, very few on this board would care whether he wore a poppy. Because he's not very good (which is the ONLY thing that matters in this whole debate) it matters to people a lot more.

I did come back. I told you that whatever respect he could have gained from Sunderland fans over Bloody Sunday was lost with his decision to disrespect us by not wearing the poppy. The IRA now are nothing but gun toting thugs who now trade drugs and arms to make a living.

He has the right to choose whether to wear or not to wear the poppy. We have the right to agree with that decision or to disagree with that decision. The ability to make these choices is paramount, not the motives or justification behind them.

6 pages of blah blah, no offence intended but wanted to know if he had gone for how much and what the potential replacement was. Didn't get any answers merely an attempted history or religious lesson and I am far to old for that. You ****ing hounded me for a week on the pm regarding polish talent, then threatened to make my private messages public for reasons beyond me as I never disputed a word you said, yet you got more worked up and frustrated with every message and I didn't know what I could say to make you back off. In the end I just ignored your message. In essence, you've got a one track mind which reeks of narcissism so I think you need to check out your own backyard before you check out someone elses.

 

As a Sunderland player we expect the highest of decorum from him. On and off the pitch. As a fanbase if we want him to wear a poppy on his shirt and he doesn't then he was well within his rights to fk off back to Derry. Sunderland players are paid to respect the shirt, the club and the supporters end off, not the other way round.

Paolo may be a fascist and it may nark some sections of the Sunderland supporters but he doesn't throw his fascism in our faces by posting fascist messages or saluting on twitter and I bet that on the 11/11 this season he will have a poppy on his lapel! and countless fascists were killed by English troops!

Eh. so you are saying that he is mentally ill? You are using the excuse of his past for how he is now? I answered this before. I live in Poland which was decimated by the Germans and then the Russians for decades. I have friends that were imprisoned by the Communists. They wouldn't use that as an excuse to go around posting **** on twitter or supporting terrorists. My son's Grandad lived under the occupying forces of the Wehrmacht and the Communists. The Wehrmacht labelled the Poles untermensch and god know's what he witnessed as a kids.... probably worse then McClean.
