We're through that's all I care about. We can't play any worse than that and a few years ago under MoN we would probably have gone out. Roll on the next tie and forget about this abject display.
we are building a lovely bank account. Apart from that ? The gamble is the lack of investment in the team when we have the means to do this without taking huge financial risk.
The way Celtic operate, they will allow The Rangers to catch up to them in no time because there is no attempt to move forward, anytime they go forward a bit they are selling their best players for profit and not replacing them. 10 in a row might not be a foregone conclusion.
Celtic have progressed in the champions league with last season team , with three new signing out injured ( I include Rogic ) and I expect another signing before the final qualifer . The Rangers team of last season have just gone out to Forfar the way things are going that club won't be about in 10 years time !! Here we go 10 in a row
i think it is lawells intent to not spend a wedge until qualification for the group stages is confirmed. after that **** it will be tough getting through the next round. They were absolutely terrible but we were as bad if not worse. on saying the above, is the strategy right to try and secure CL qualification before we spend? the quality of player that will be interested in joining is far greater than europa league. I think it is too big a gamble and we should be looking to sign a centre half, left back and a striker. on a side note I listened to the bbc sportsound podcast on my way to work. Peter Houston said Wilson was outstanding - I thought he had watched a different game from me as both centre halves were atrocious
Don't ask me to link a source, but I seen something which showed the annual turnover of clubs in the last 16 of the Champions League. At number 16 was Celtic with £55m turnover, at number 15 was Galatasaray with £90m turnover... everyone else was well above £100m. So aye, don't be thinking that we get to do this every season while maintaining the current wage and transfer bill that we do. As **** as it is, we're getting lucky.
Today's daily mail moaning Celtic have an easy passage to champions league and Arsenal a hard one after learning they could get psv, Fenerbache or Real Sociedad ,Forfar sake!!! We won our league they were lucky to finish 4th
Did they mention how this will affect house prices in the south-east or is Celtic's seeding causing major problems with illegal immigrants?
No !! But the other football article , Davie King says Rangers will be back in administration by December
do you mean rangers international will enter administration for the first time, i am pretty sure they have not been in it yet
The current team, if the make it to the Champions League Group Stages will be lucky to finish 3rd. We're losing good players, not replacing them or improving the squad. Some players need to be pushed out to squad players - not first picks. Celtic need: 2 Cente Backs - Ambrose is not good enough. A left back to challenge Izzy. A defensive midfielder (could Ambrose do this role?) A Striker ...one with a decent record. That, to me, means spending at least £7/8m as a minimum! I can only see Celtic spending anywhere near that if Champions League is reached ... If Celtic get Europa League, there will be minimal investment. Celtic never seem to kick on from a position of strength ...they seem happy to maintain!
Just read that Daily Mail article. Nowhere does it say that Celtic have an easy passage. Harrys paranoia rampant this morn
That was one **** awful game of football. They are a ****e team and we really should have pumped them in the first leg. In other words, get a decent striker in. Now.
