Seems we have Stoke buffering Norwich from 4th bottom on oddschecker now. Not a massive surprise that we're still rated as in the mix down there though what does surprise me is how highly some teams are rated. Example, in terms of odds, Saints come out highly rated - top half in fact.

Other than being a very long read, this article is bizarre if you look at it from a Norwich perspective and compare it to our odds with the bookies and the prediction league started by daib0:

    http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/330/8856711/-

Not a single interviewee predicts Norwich to go down and getting on for half of them predict that we will have a strong season as a "surprise package" - though I'm not convinced we can be a surprise package if everyone's predicting we will be...

I think this reiterates what I said earlier - these interviewees are all pretty knowledgeable guys who genuinely know about other clubs. They do not reflect the average football fan (who, let's face it, is probably a casual Man U supporter). The average football fan will not be thinking about Norwich, let alone our signings, and we will be their forgotten prediction. This explains the odds more than anything else.

Chelsea, United or City for the title (wow, really??), and Swansea top four?? What a plank, how much did get paid to write that ****? <doh>

Nice to see every single comment defending us and praising us up though, at least some people are taking notice and it would appear that the fans have far more knowledge about what's going on than these so called bloody "experts" <doh>

    Proper **** that.

    "Ohhhh! Swansea!!... *Swoon*"

I don't know about you guys but I am absolutely sick to death of the medias hard on with Swansea.

I predict the tough fixture list will effect Swansea and they will struggle.

Can't hate Swansea too much because the media hypes them up all the time, I myself admire what they'd done.

We've always been unpopular in my opinion and it doesn't really bother me. Let the ''experts'' have their opinion, always happy to prove them wrong.

Theres only one reason the media give anyone that level of attention

    To watch them fall.

My other favourite is matt le tissier and his obvious (understandable) obsession with Southampton.

When he comes on the TV I always imagine him answering every question by just saying "SOUTH-AMP-TON" like "MATT DAMON" from team America.

We will always be unpopular, we will always have the Delia pie references and it's all fun and game till we kick your arse on the pitch where it matters.

I don't think we are unpopular just underreported and therefore unknown so disregarded as a potential threat.

Top four? Really??? You think their squad is strong enough to cope with a Europa Cup campaign and challenge for top four?

Don't see it myself, not by a long way.

have jamie redknapp's comments got anything to do with a mr hooper being taken from his old man? <laugh>

i have no problem with pundits or fans predicting us to be relegated IF they can give genuine explanation why they see us struggling so much, but to simply say 'norwich will go down' is just boring. its easy to predict the promoted clubs will go down because they are naturally weaker on paper but having finished mid table two years in a row and then gone on to make massive strides in the transfer market, i do find it bizarre that pundits still label us as relegation probabilities.

as for swansea, there is no way they will be top four - they will have a good season in the europa league - i can see them reaching the semi's quite easily, but that's an awful lot of football to be played and they start from a position behind everton, liverpool and spurs, two of which have no european distractions at all. they'll be safe, no question - their team is far too good to be dragged down - but is there really that big a difference in terms of quality between us and them to predict one will finish near the top and the other at the bottom? there was only two points between us last season and we supposedly had a poor season.

poor punditry mr redknapp, poor punditry.

I must admit, I don't mind the media constantly hyping Swansea. It's pretty refreshing after years of relentless "big club" chatter. It keeps us well and truly under the radar, which is (though I appreciate many of us want the papers singing our praises) where we want to be because it heightens expectations of opposition fans, which (and I know I bang on about this, but it's true) has an astonishingly profound impact on the pitch.

And Swansea are particularly admirable, as Drunky says, in the way they are run and how they have gone about cementing their position. That said, I think Swans will also struggle (though not uncomfortable close to relegation), but do quite well in Europe because their style is well suited, which is progress for them. Bony is a brilliant signing, but I still feel they don't have quite the same strength in depth that we do. If Bony or any of their first choice back four get injured/suspended, big gaps appear in their squad.

No,you misread me.I said he was spot on in response to the statement that we were pretty much onknown.I think the Premiership ceiling for the clubs other than the real big ones is to make it to 7th.

I have reads multitude if comments on different website from all kinds of football fans tipping us to do well, just take a look at the comments on Redknapp's column. It seems wildly agreed we've made good signings, in fact I seem to remember seeing a tweet from Robbie Savage after we signed Hooper saying he no longer thought we would go down and he's been saying we'd get relegated this season since before last season ended.

Surely Tiss is the most bareable pundit out of the collection of morons on that show? You can either listen to Phil Thompson give Liverpool a 24/7 rim job, Charlie Nicholas shout things in an annoying Scottish accent, or watch Paul Merson display the kind of intelligence you'd find in the mind of a ******ed 6 year old.

I've always liked M le T.Both as a player and a pundit. He doesn't take himself too seriously. As a player his loyalty to Saints was laudable.Had a little skill too,

Merson is bizarre. His tv persona is a complete waste of space, but I find his written analysis occasionally quite good (at least relative to the other jokers they have on SkySports.com)

I don't see it any more since it went off Freeview but Jeff Stelling was a very amusing presenter. The BBC could do worse than nick him.

    Of the candidates today:

Cardiff: Not a single shot on target - i'd put it down to nerves today, give them time to settle under Malky.
Stoke: Fairly toothless but again, new manager so give them time.
Us: A mixed bag but surely better with new players coming in.
Sunderland: Looked ok today, just need to take chances.
Fulham: Pretty bad by all accounts but scored against the run of play.
    Villa: Too good, surely.
Saints: Played a boring game, too early to call
    West Brom: See Saints
West Ham: Probably too good, but i'll keep hoping.
Arsenal: odds on favourites to go down, surely (they'll finish fourth again)
