Seriously, I'm almost lost for words. They really are the lowest of the low.

We sell both the red poppy and the white peace poppy in our shops.

I agree fully with this. Keep the politics out of football. No Republican songs, no British Army collections, keep it all out.

Celtic are a Scottish club and many of their fans and players lost their lives fighting for their country.

It's too late to say keep politics out of football, we both know that.

Once again the club have enbarrassed the majority of their fans by pandering to the Plastic Paddy minority.

We've got quite a mixed bunch of fans with differing political opinions. I know quite a few Celtic fans who served in the British Army and I know quite a few more (due to where I grew up) who are active Irish Republicans. I've about as much desire to commemorate the British army's dead and injured as the average Iraqi citizen would - in saying this I understand why other Celtic fans want to. Therefore I think the club has taken the right course of action in not taking a position either side.

I'm not surprised but I am confused.

In what way are poppies insensitive to Irish people? They commemorate fallen British soldiers, they don't celebrate the deaths of past enemies of the British army, if that is what these Irish people are supposedly sensitive about.

They are fully entitled not to buy one but I don't see how the option to buy one, in a British stadium I may add, is in any way insensitive to them.

Well let's try organise a fund raiser for injured IRA men or the families of the dead ones in Ibrox and see how the Govan Loyal would react.

Celtic Park is in Britain, but your Army is still in Ireland. We've got a mixed heritage with people moving between the islands. Rangers are proud of their Ulster connection and draw a huge fanbase from there, Celtic are the same with the whole of Ireland. You can't tell us that our opinions about the British army are to be silenced in Britain while your people and your fans/state/general population have not exactly minded your own business in regards to Ulster and the rest our country for the last few hundred years.

Rocket you are being racist about a war that was fought against racists. Even ignorant man like you can see that is stupid? I do wear my poppy and am proud of millions of Indians who fought along with the British. My great grandfather fought in Africa with pride and we are all proud of him still.

What the **** are you on about?

Rangers and Celtic are both British clubs and should embrace the opportunity to honour our war dead.

The least they can do is offer fans the opportunity to buy a poppy. Should certain fans not wish to buy one that's entirely their choice but I think Celtic are calling this one wrong by allowing themselves to be influenced by a minority of their supporters.

    Two things here....

First of all It's good to give.

But it's equally important in my opinion that by wearing it you're showing that you care - giving is only the first part.

Just asked my oldest boy what he thinks of your point..............

    He agrees with you. <doh>
