We have seen players from the Championship last year getting signed up by Prem teams and although a certain team in question has been promoted, am I the only one who is confused how Jonathan Williams is still with Crystal Palace?

I'd have thought he would be one of the first players who played in the Championship last year to have been poached despite him now being in the top division.

I thought that someone would have taken him. Maybe they'll wait and see how he's doing and buy him in January. From a Welsh perspective, we benefit as he will be playing first class football week in week out.

Agreed, every time i've seen him play for the national side, he's been really impressive. Bit surprised you haven't tried to sign him, considering

    A) He's a welshman <party>

    B) He's good on the ball and would suit a team that plays attractive football (you)

Agree Kyle, I thought we might have signed him. However when you think of it, it would have cost probably around 15million to get him, whereas for 6million we bagged Canas, Pozuelo, Shelvey and De Guxman on loan.
A future top 4 player in the making I reckon. Would fit in well at Arsenal alongside Ramsay.

I am surprised we haven't been linked with him, he fits the current ethos. Young, british, talented.

I reckon you could have got him for about £8 million. He's welsh, so that lowers the price, if he were English, he'd be hyped up as much as Zaha was.

But the promise is there, just takes the right team to unlock that potential. And no Palace player was especially good in the playoffs.

I'd say he's a very good prospect but at the moment we're not a club who can spend "big" money on a player who's unproven and hope he'll kick on at this level.Players like Williams, unless "you" either develop ourselves or buy in under the radar early will remain out of our reach. He may get picked up by a big club then loaned out or stay with Palace and be a great success but I feel it'll be the former.
