Why is it every year that we get involved in these cup upsets?

Hopefully should build the confidence of a few players. But as Eddie asked for it - not really bothered about the cup. 3 points on Saturday would be much nicer <ok>

Actually the forum didn't have all the usual stuff about "Don't care about the Cup, only the league". Maybe the sight of Parky at Wembley has changed a few opinions.
Re-Eddie's point about playing Harriott and Green in the same team. Green put in a very good shift last night, looked as if he really wants Pritchard's spot. What he'll do with it when he gets it remains to be seen, but Wilson looked like a defender pure and simple last night- maybe that's what you have to do when Green's in front of you. On the left the alternatives to Harriott are Cook or Evina. I've seen Cook a lot at different levels and last night was the first time I've seen him play a good game, so I think it will need more than one good game to get him in the team. I don't know why Evina never plays wide left, he seems suited to it. Or he could play an additional CM there, like Jensen did after Parker left. What I think he'll do is play Harriott and drop Kermit a bit deeper, although I won't know until monday, since I'll be on a barge in France.

Maybe if we had a squad containing Michu, Hernandez, Dyer, Williams etc I would change my opinion. But with a small squad I'd still rather the 3 points on Saturday to beating Oxford in the first round of the League Cup.

Why should it be one or the other? Anyway our squad isn't that small- last night was our reserve team more or less, and was a good run -out for them.

I agree it will hopefully build confidence for a few of the fringe players. But until it happens again on Saturday with 3 points on the line I can't get excited.

I can't believe how he doesn't get into the Polish national team. Better than that Lewandowski bloke anyway

    FHB, enjoy your holiday <cheers>

Last night proved that we have some strength in depth. I thought Cook, Evina, Pigott and Church were particularly good.

In addition, the emergence of Cousins has shown why the signing of Gower was really quite pointless.

At 3-0, and deep into stoppage time, I was on the verge of a £100 win, but I happily saw that profit disappear down the drain in exchange for the look of sheer joy on young Joe's face.

    The 'handball' chants were great.
