    Massive interview <ok>

Suarez and his advisors are adamant that the clause stands too, and not just a verbal agreement. They have the backing of the PFA too and will take it to arbitration if necessary.

Was refreshing the page and it appeared! Just finished reading it.

Well it's clear he wants to move to Arsenal, him and his people think that firstly the clause has been met and he should be allowed to leave, secondly that Brenda personally promised him he would not just let him, but help him leave if they didn't get CL football and is now going against that and that he is willing to take thsi further and do what it takes to get this move.

How can Rodgers accuse Arsenal of having no class when he is breaking promises to his own players in a way that effects there career and life is beyond me.

Yep, PFA already on his side is a good thing and the fact he is willign to take it further to push through a transfer.

He'll come, but nothing is done yet. Still a long way to go in this saga.

I'd also be shocked if more clubs don't bid now. Bit of a 'come and get me' article to all CL clubs

It's the same bullshit players always say. Modric spouted crap about 'gentlemans agreements'. Surely it can't be that hard to read a contract? Or interpret one. If our lawyers have said its watertight then they'll be morons if it turns out not to be

  11. All true but if it goes to arbitration then you guys won't sign him by 2 September <ok>

    Actually a valid point....

Good luck getting the accountant to spend so much money. Only We can go into a transfer window, intent on spending, yet still make a net profit (so far)

Suarez obviously believes the clause would allow him to go for £40m but that if an offer came in above £35m Brenda had personally promised him he would help him get a move to a CL club. He has the backing of the PFA and is willing to pursue things further. Should that fail, then we will see him hand in a transfer request and the possibility of an increased offer, but otherwise it looks like we are waiting to see what happens and if we can settle at £40m.
