You need a LB, CB, CM, AM, 2 wingers, poss another forward, I reckon your squad will be: Riena, Gilks* Enrique*/Areuilo/Robinson Carragher/Skirtel/Wilson Agger/Jones* Johnson/Kelly/Flannaghan Downing*/Merelies Gerrard/Cattermole*/Spearing Lucas/Henderson*/Shelvey Nzogbia*/Monaco fwd (cant remember name, can play wing or striker)* Kyut/Carroll Suarez Gives you a strong back line, plenty of depth in CM, versitile wingers, and with Suarez, Kuyt, Carroll and the Monaco lad (could also include Downing and Nzogbia in there too) up top you can alternate between 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 I expect you will definately be in top 4, and win a cup
I know Liverpool have been crying out for wingers for years but I've always held the opinion that title winning teams usually consist of a solid back 4. I know Liverpool have had a decent defence for over 10 years (stats back that up) but I do think we're short of quality at the moment. We haven't replaced Hyypia in my eyes.

I'm probably just agreeing with everyone else but here is what I think we need: a left back a deep-lying CM two wingers - one of which needs to be able to cover all three of the 3 attacking midfield positions in the 4-2-3-1 formation. a new back up keeper a new back up striker a new CB
I agree with everything you have said apart from a new back-up keeper. We've got Peter Gulacsi and Martin Hansen as back-up keepers.
I think Gulacsi's going on season long loan though, so if Reina (god forbid) got injured then we would be left with Hansen as starting 11 replacement keeper.
