Codemasters have released five excellent screenshots for the upcoming F1 2011 game, and we have more information about the game as well: One preview describes the game as having improved handling, oscillating bodywork, improved damage, revamped pit stops, 2011 rule additions, enhanced garage visuals, a new press feedback system and a dynamic cloud system. It goes on to say that the game has enhanced damage and failures, improved feedback for the driver (a voice explaining to the driver what else is happening on the track) and heightened circuit fidelity. As expected, we will have DRS and KERS, a revised paddock and garage, and new parc fermé animation. Co-op career and split screen will also be available. Other previews contain similar information, but also add that there will be flexing bodywork, mechanical breakdowns, a safety car and greater emphasis on mechanical grip. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Cheers for posting this, looks really good. I'm glad they've got the flexi bodywork sorted, the Red Bulls would be unrealistic otherwise! I wonder whether it only applies to front wings, or whether you'll be able to see (and equally important feel) the bodywork in other areas flex.
Im sure you guys are idiots like me and will be looking forward to ramming the Safety car off the road... am I right?
I must say, this looks absolutely fantastic! I'm completely out of touch with gaming but this looks totally awesome. If similar attention to detail has been put into the dynamics of the cars as much as the graphics, it should be an absolutely stunning game. Please keep me posted on developments. I may actually go and get all the kit to play this myself. But if I do, I'm afraid it is likely to encroach into my forum time! ("Aaaah at lastâ¦" , sighs of relief I hear!)
Thanks for the update FF, F1 2011 looks really good and if they can improve on the base of 2010 then it should be a fantastic game and I am looking forward to the SC which should be fun. ps. I also hope they have sorted out the pitstop issues.
lol, quite possibly, but I'm sure when i see it come out i'll turn around so i can have a head-on instead. The graphics look awesome, and codemasters have written some brilliant race games.
Pitstops have to be improved. The best i can manage is 3.8 seconds, far too slow. Just being pedantic, but RBR can do it below 3 seconds apparently.
Just overtake it as it comes out the pits and get a massive lead before taking your penalty. Thats what the pro's do
So here is the plan, first crash into a car and bring out the safety car, then overtake it and drive for glory.
Fascinating that nearly every comment is about crashing and cheating. No wonder that F1 2010, a fantastic game, was ruined by the people that play it on line. I play F1 2010 because I want to see how fast I can drive, and because it informs my viewing of the races, not because I want to have a pile up with the safety car. Somebody please explain to me what is so great about cheating and smashing into other cars? Are you all wannabe Hamiltons?
I guess it's because some people have a destructive nature, in exact opposition to those with a creative nature. Likewise there are those that will do anything to succeed including cheating and there are those that abide by the rules. Or, and I'm going out on a limb here........IT'S A GAME!
I think someone has been up too late and is a bit cranky ( the Hamilton comment was not warranted and ruined your otherwise good response). I agree I paly race-sims as I want to win, not cause the biggest crash. If by playing online you are up against idiots who just want to take you out, then I will stick to playing against the PS£, though I can only handicap myself so much by setting the car up so that it ISN'T too fast so I get a decent race!
Very perceptive allsaintchris. I'd also swigged back a bottle of wine lol. You're right about the on line races. Sometimes you have to race the AIs just to get a race where you aren't battered about all over the place. Maybe we should set up a not606 Online Racing League. A place where fair play and respect for other drivers reigns. Now that I mention fair play and respect for other drivers; the unwarranted Hamilton comment was only a little joke. Everyone's allowed a little joke, aren't they? If you can't have a joke that would be fricken ridiculous.
