Hello, I'm new on here. I was born in Fazakerley on the same day we last clinched the title, against QPR on April 28th 1990, Yes, I'm a jinx, but I guess it was meant to be, knowing our luck we will probably win the league on the day I die, I wasn't brought up in the city however as I moved to Wigan when I was three years old but knowing where I was born, the date of the title and my dad support of the club are the reason I became a Liverpool supporter at the age of around five years old, Liverpool Football Club have given me many of the best and worst moments of my life but I like many others wouldn't swap it to be any other club in the world.

Anybody got any stories behind their reasons for their love of LFC?

A lot of my family don't really have a team. They just watch football generally, keeping an eye out for the local teams, as I do to an extent (Hull City, Scunny United). The reason I support Liverpool is because when I was 5 years old (1994ish) my uncle bought me a Liverpool kit for my birthday. At that age I didn't really pay attention to football, so Liverpool immediately became my first team. My support was only strengthened by the fact that 90% of lads my age in my area support United, simply because they win things.

We moved to Rock Ferry when I was eight. Dad was already a Red and took me to my first game at Anfield in 1968 and I was hooked. We moved to Scotland but there was no way I was changing my team just because of proximity. That's plastic.

It was popular in the 70s to give your house a name and we had a sign on ours, "The Kop." A little corner of some far-off-foreign field that shall remain forever Red.

I can go in to a long detailed story but it basically boils down to this...

My dad, grandad & uncles are all glory hunters and it was forced on me - for that I am thankful and in turn I have decided to do the same for my son

    and doesn't he look chuffed...

    Welcome to the forum!

I picked the great Liverpool Football Club when I was about 4. My dad is a Spurs fan and the first game I ever saw on the telly that I can remember was Spurs Vs Liverpool. My dad wanted me to be a Spurs fan but on that day, Liverpool won. That's how it all came about!

I was 4 years old at the time! To be fair, Liverpool won. I'm a Liverpool supporter now and i'm not going to change that. I'm happy that I picked the greatest team in the world.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know. Like I have said, I was 4 years old. Children that age change their minds about things quite a lot. Look, i'm a Liverpool supporter now and I have been since I was 4.

My mum's a red..My Dad's a gooner...In a desperate attempt to lead me from the light, he took me as a 5 year old to highbury to watch in his words "The lads destroy, the scouse scum"..90 minutes later, thanks to Kevin Keegan...Liverpool won 2-0 as i remember and the rest as they say is history.

Even to this day, my dad claims his biggest failing in life is "breeding a bloody Liverpool fan"..

Always loved Liverpool since a young lad, Dunno why, Maybe it was the History, The Songs , The Supporters, The Curly Perms, Because i always prefered the Kit as a kid? But i think it was my 1st trip to the Hallowed Kop that will always stick in my mind. In 87 me and a gang of mates saved our pocket money and my milk round money and went during a rugby tour up there, Playing Newcastle. Got into the Kop early and i had the bright idea to stand against the ? ( scaf pole sort of things dotted all over you would lean against? - Late night cant think of the word ) turned out great for us, cracking view, brilliant atmosphere. nearly crying with the emotion around the place when everyone started singing.

Bright idea until the ball came down the Kop end and everyone pushed forwards to get a better view. My mate passed out and broke his nose, and a medic stretchered him off, lol. Great 1st time at Anfield, and been deeply in love with this great club ever since.

Broke his nose? ****ing hell! Another reason why it should probably remain seated.

For me, it was down to my brother and a friend of my dads son.

I was about 5 and we were round my dads friends. Their son told me to support Liverpool and gave my some Football player figures.

A week or so later I told my brother I was thinking of supporting Liverpool, and he said you have no choice - as him and his mates all support them.

And thus, 18 years later i'm still supporting them! I'v not met the original guy since- but I owe him a beer!

I'm also keeping on the tradition - i'v just told my six year old cousin to start supporting Liverpool!
