Hull City are reportedly swooping for Bologna striker Robert Acquafresca, beating Livorno to the punch.

The centre-forward turns 26 next month and returned to base after a six-month loan spell at Spanish side Levante.

He had been expected to take another loan switch to Serie A new boys Livorno this summer.

However, according to CalcioNews24, Acquafresca is tempted by an offer from Hull City instead.

He has Italian and Polish citizenship. Bologna would be happier to sell Acquafresca rather than accept another loan, as he is not part of their plans.

Gazzetta dello Sport linked us with him a few weeks ago.

If it's true, then I suspect we've got another striker on his way out.

I suspect it's Fryatt. McLean was on his way out anyway and him leaving wouldn't have dented the squad too much. In much the same way Hobbs and Evans have gone, I think if anybody is to leave next, it'll be Matty.

Acquafresca was being chased by a few people, so maybe we did a deal behind the scenes in order to get our man. Interesting if true.

Hasn't really had chance to settle anywhere but I think he is ready to prove he has the ability. Would be delighted with this signing but would be unfair on Fryatt to give him the door. Would much rather Nick P went.

Think Fryatt will go out on loan. Just don't think he's fast enough for the way 'hopefully' we'll be playing.

I know **** all about him, but like all these other foreigners we've been linked with, he would be a great signing. <ok>

Fryatt must go. He is completely out of his depth. Sure it's a little harsh because it's not his fault but I don't see him catching up.

His strike-rate isn't the best, but he's not a bad player from what (little) I've seen of him. I suppose I'd be quite happy with him, Sagbo and Graham as our options up-front. It's also nice to know that Bruce, unlike certain other managers we've had, recognises that one or two half-decent strikers isn't enough and that you need at least three to pick from if you're to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

PS. I agree with Circa about Fryatt. A good player on his day but certainly not one of Premier League quality.

I'd rather we loan Fryatt out, that way if we go down we can have a proven Championship player to help us try and get back up. If we stay up, we can sell him.

The thing I don't like about signing loads of foreigners is they want to **** off if we get relegated. Or we can't afford to keep them.

re. Fryatt, we should send him out on loan. If we go back down, bring him back. If we stay up and Graham stays, sell him. If Graham goes back to Sunderland, keep him.

I think this fella would bring some freshness and fluidity to the forward line.

He's got great tartar control, dribbles in 3 colours and molars the opposition defenders.

Hopefully the goals won't just trickle in.

    Shouldn't that be fresh water?

I was wandering whether Livorno played in blue, red and white stripes....
