Its best just to not think about it. So there might be some jizz in your burger, if you don't know it doesn't hurt you
I very, very rarely eat anything from their stores & if I do it's generally a breakfast (their coffee is great tbf) I'd never eat their chicken & I won't touch KFC either. I too got fussy about meat after the CJD debacle, I only cook with local sourced produce & I'm lucky as I live in the sticks so it's widely available. I agree with your comments about the US being indifferent to what they're eating. The British pallet has dramatically changed since the late 70's & early 80's when processed **** was king. We're now far more conscious of what we're eating & seem to have a much greater interest in cooking per se, than the Yanks. Oliver loses cred when you read some of his recipe books & look at the heinous calorific & fat content of some of the dishes he's advising we re-create........
Know a girl who got a boneless meal at KFC... She bit into a piece and it was rubbery... Peeled off the batter and it was an entire chicken intestine. Pink-yellow, bulbous.. ****ing disgusting. Only eat the popcorn chicken from it. ... and what compensation did she get? KFC vouchers.
Wouldn't eat any of that muck from Mcdonalds or KFC,never been in any of them. I would advise anyone to avoid eating that sh*t.
The thing I bit into would be launched straight at some ****s head behind the counter. That's ****ing vile!
on the US... now bluff is on his way to an early death but i went over there for business several times in the last year. (this list is for RHC) 1. When you can cut a steak with a fork... there is something wrong. they put all sorts into even prme cuts of meat there 2. they can't make sandwiches. i asked for a large sandwich for lunch as a business place. they delivered a thing with enough meat to account for a cat.... and it was a foot long... they also have no butter to speak of to put on bread but use mayonnaise. 3. nicest burger i ever got was a big mac in Manhattan... you can tell why, extra juicy and flavorsome.. in other words fake... restaurants in NY = terrible 4. nowhere does chicken o nthe menu due to the bucket of places. the resturants are all steak or seafood (bad seafood) 5. worst condemnation of the US i can give is they WILL ask you how do you want your burger cooked. MEDIUM RARE>>> MEDIUM F'N RARE FOR GROUND MEAT... that is right there a total recipe for food poisoning.. what do they know that they've done to get rid of the bacteria on the outer surface of real meat that WE have to cook meat to kill in the first place? If you don't cook a real mince meat burger right through you will have put bacteria in the middle, not killed it and given yourself food poisoning. Americans... dumb Fs.
If I ever go there, I get chicken. The burgers, just doesn't taste of anything, let alone meat. Then they have the time limited specials, "The Taste Of...." and they all tasted the same too. Foul sloppy stuff. But I do love the Chicken BCO and the chips...
Totally agree, haven't been near a McDonalds since I was 15 and old enough to know better, never eaten in any other fast food outlet, some will say you don't know what you're missing, I will say I know exactly what I'm missing. Been vegetarian since that age anyway so not like there's much choice in those places.
Well then there's a lot more than Mcdonalds tht you'll be missing! No bacon, sausages (not the linda mcarney rubbish...), and steaks? Geez that's tough
Depends which side of the fence you're looking at it from. I'd say you carnivores are the ones who have it tough! I dislike meat, everything about it makes me gag, so I don't actually miss it at all. Can I ask if you're American? Just because once when I was over there they asked me if I wanted gravy which was apparently veggie even though they'd made it with beef stock.
There is nothing you get from meat that you cannot get from other food sources In fact there are far better sources of protein per pound than meat, even many insects are actually better for you to eat than beef as well, not that I'd trade. Then there's the beef fueled methane.
Not read the OP or responses, just the article... I think this is totally out of order myself. Fair enough, McDonalds serve crap but isn't it up to be people to choose whether they want to eat crap or not? Yes, its not the healthiest of foods but who goes to McDonalds for a healthy option? Who the hell is Jamie Oliver to dictate what people can and can't eat? I think if he had argued for it to be clearly labelled (a bit like cigarettes) then fair enough, but to force them to change the recipe?
Store sold Chinese noodles, subjected to serious microwaves to kill the parasites in noodles, often not enough to actually kill the parasites, stay away form that ****e too
That's not the point, Hydroxide ammonia is a heath risk and it is not advertised to you before you eat it, you are not told what's actually in the food, mechanically separated meat, a term for gristle and cartilage and animal organs I cant even have 1ppm of ammonia in my fish tanks ffs, the stuff is toxic.
So how many people have been effected by this in the last umpteen years? Yes, people get fat but that's their choice. It stinks of socialism to me, people should have the choice! And no, I'm not arguing because I eat Mcdonalds myself (I prefer KFC anyway) but because I don't like being told what I can and can't do!
Oliver does advocate healthy eating, but the McDonalds thing was about poison being used to treat meat NOT fit for human consumption
