    Obviously an excellent prospect but Chelsea are loaning him out to get experience. I can't see him getting in ahead of Ash, Chico and Amat right now, so it might be that Chelsea won't be happy with that. Amazed that Liverpool are in for him for a similar reason. Don't know Albion's strength at CB; perhaps they can offer him games.

    What if Ash or Chico gets injured and sits, say, 2months out though Ivor?

    With the Europa we will have 2 games a week.

    Imagine Chico gets injured. We'd line up for a tough Europa fixture;

    --------- Amat -------- Ash ---------------

    with Monk on the bench.

    On the Sunday 1 of these 2 would line up with Monk. Add in a suspension and we are faced with Ki and Monk as the CBs in the Premier/Europa.

    This scenario will probably not happen so spending £6 million + on Moreno or Botia would be a no go (I see these as potential Ash replacements).
    A young loanee would be perfect however. This fella covers right-back also, an area Jenkins admits they have concerns about.

    On a Thursday (against weak Europa opposition) we'd line up;

    ------------ Omeruo --------- Amat ---------------

    On the Sunday in the Prem;

    ------------ Chico ---------- Ash -------------------

    and juggle the combinations to suit.

    The lad would get games, Monk would captain the reserves and fill in when we get injuries and suspensions.

    ....and so ends the case for the defence.
    Have I convinced you? <laugh>

    Good argument, Terror, and you do present a solid case for the defence. :biggrin:

    Thing is, there is no guarantee of injuries and suspensions, although I do concede they are extremely likely, so would Chelsea let him come to us on a "what if" basis? The fact that he can cover right-back as well does make his signing a more attractive proposition and he is more likely to get some games.

    Consequently, I am happy to defer to you on this occasion - only on this occasion, mind you. :biggrin: When can he start?

    PS: Forgot to mention to you in my last pm that Carcassonne is within easy reach. It's a quite fabulous medieval and historical place to visit. It was used as the setting for a recent historical/fantasy TV series drama and must be seen if you are anywhere near the area.

    Cheers Ivor!

    Will probably be going next summer now as we are buying a different house and the budget is more squeezed.

    Read the other day that France has the most "tourists" (how many are just passing through wasn't clear) and one of the lowest "takes" in terms of money spent. Which given our new budget sounds ideal! :)

    How much does the average fortnight cost you in that neck of the woods? (assuming that I would be looking for no frills for the next couple of years)

    Terror, will pm you on this in due course as I have to do a bit of searching. I've always used my friends apartment on a freebie but unfortunately she passed away recently at a young age from breast cancer.

    I love the area so much, I still intend to visit regularly so I'll be hunting for suitable stays myself. Budget of course!!!

    This fella had a solid season long loan at Boro and followed that up with a good showing for Nigeria at the World Cup.
    Possible that Mourinho will use him this year but is there an outside chance that he will be loaned to a Premier Club this season?
    Should we be trying to make this happen?

    I remember the last Chelsea prospect we borrowed. Josh macechran, he was garbage. As long as this boy can play and is good enough then no problems.
