Has anyone seen anything about Man City being after Debuchy. I was talking to me bruv earlier and he mentioned it.
Link to a report here. http://www.nufcblog.com/2013/08/05/manchester-city-reported-after-mathieu-debuchy/
Cheers. The only other place I could find was a couple of people talking about it on the GFN twitter feed. Probably just more nonsense.
It's just Twitter banter at he moment. Apparently Sky Italia started it off. I think City can do a lot better than Debuchy (who I rate) given their cash reserves. If they do make a bid then it better start at £20m for the fat man to be interested (his stated baseline for transfers out).
" I think all of our players have been linked away just me, the Tea lady left, but I'm unlikely to move now you see, like Ameobi I spoon it when getting too close to a cup although I might be tempted if there was a couple of sweetners in it for me" "pgTip - don't believe everything you hear, go on go on go on go on" go on ahh! Feck off then..................
Really? He hasn't really been that great. He's had good games and bad games, and shown he has disciplinary issues at times. Stupid tackles and losing his head when things are going against us. I'd prefer to keep him, but if they offered us 10m, I'd sell.
A fair assessment of the games he's played. I wouldn't sell for 10m, and in any case at the speed we go we wouldn't get a replacement until January at the earliest.
Can't see him going, he's our only recognized, decent/international RB at the club, assuming Santon stays at LB. Would need to be a big bid and soon as we would have to get a replacement in. But like I say can't see it happening.
He was a let down last season. Really simmo could probably think himself a bit hard done by to find himself second choice. I've got a feeling he will be much improved next season however.
I don't think people are being fair on Debuchy, Sissoko was worse then him IMO. He wasn't that bad and the matches he was bad he was in the company of 10 other bad players not to mention dull and bad management.
Sounds silly, they'd aim a bit higher. I can't believe anyone is writing off Debuchy. He was thrown to the lions in the midst of a relegation battle, no knowledge of the game here etc etc. He was very poor. Sissoko was too. Both will come good I expect and they've had time to settle and adapt. Pre season will help. I say it everytime with foreign players, give them 6-12 months before judging. If we'd taken this attitude, Nobby Solano would never have lasted past his first woeful 18months!
Debuchy is a cut above, a top class player. He'll be outstanding this season. Fcking ridiculous, the opinion of some here. You don't even need to think back a decade to Solano - look at Enrique, Santon, Coloccini. All struggled to begin with. Divs.
Calm down. Any 'div' can see he didnt have the best season with us. No one here has written him off either. In fact I think everyone said that they think he will come good.
I think all of our January signings will show what they're about this season. They all showed patches of real talent but weren't a consistent, gelled unit. That's to be expected when you add 6 players to a squad mid-season, especially if the club is struggling at the time. This season they have a bit of PL experience and a pre-season to bed in. I'm expecting good things, starting against Man City (to whom we will lose but will not be destroyed or humiliated)
