190 broken seats already this season , I've supported them but when they are damaging our own property and putting us in trouble with uefa our club had to act . Their behaviour away from home is even worse

My point was that respect is a two way street.

Anyone can throw out lame rhetoric. There has been enough of it on this thread. Some of it direct quotes from the GB.

The fact is, the club have handled this badly from the start. The GB may not have handled this well either but to portray them as being solely responsible for this is well wide of the mark.

The truth be told, they have come out and said they are not looking for the board, nor the club to turn a blind eye. They are not, and were not seeking special treatment. That appears on me to be a thing that folk say without foundation, a sound bite if you will.

I have criticised them for certain things, I support them on certain things. This appears to me to be eminently resolvable. I am just concerned that so many are ready to castigate them and them alone.

80-90 people broke more than twice their number in seats? I'm calling the club out for bullshit on that.

Let's not quibble about the actual number Reb, the GB admit that they broke some seats. In all the times i've been to Parkhead I've never broken a single seat. (Pud probably has though <whistle>)

If seats are getting broken it's either being done maliciously = which I don't believe- or it's because people are standing on them and even possibly jumping on them. The damage may be accidental but that's besides the point.

This, although I am not happy about them being removed, is the correct way to deal with problem fans, I am gutted for them though

No need for police dawn raids

I said in a previous thread that closing a section and offering refunds should be an option and its happend!!!!!!!!

    Next for Mindy, Palestine....

Dev, you just told me you'd believe the custodians of the club every single time. If it is pedantry, then I'll accept that but if this is a figure being put out there to say how bad the GB are then I'm going to call it bullshit. They are trying to portray the GB in the worst possible light and that is devious at worst. Disingenuous at best.

    This <ok>

The problem with these guys Harry is that creating an atmosphere does not signify respect or love for Glasgow Celtic.

They claim to be Celtic "Ultras" but show the club nothing but contempt. Being inside Celtic Park is not a right; it's a privilege. <ok>

No one on here will deny lots of what they do are good, in fact very good. No one will say each and every member is a ned - indeed i'd probably go so far as to say a lot of the ned GB following are not actually members - they just attach themselves to the GB because they are attracted to some of what they do. Then with too much drink involved they take it that step too far and low and behold they get in trouble.

However at the centre of that attraction is the GB. For every good thing they come up with like the Barca display, or the horsemen banners comes a banner saying "**** UEFA" the day after UEFA fined the club, or the anti poppy banners etc. I get where they come from (on a personal level I may agree with them) - but thats their opinion and not the clubs. They seem to think that the good they do means the club should back them displaying such banners and adopt the same opinion as them - indeed they seem to think other fans should adopt a similar attitude. They are entitled to their own opinion but so is the club and so is each and every Celtic fan. Their displays of personal and political beliefs can get the club in trouble. I'm a Celtic fan - i have my beliefs - but my love of the club is one where i dont want my actions to get the club in trouble. Its also football and not a political forum. I tend to go to watch football - we have many many amazing football songs. In ireland we dont feel the need to sing and profess republicanism at football so why do we need to at soccer games in scotland? Their rebelious stance and hard core attitudes attracts the neds. The drunken neds leads to the overstepping of the mark and trouble and damage.

I've been to many many celtic games across Europe down the years - long before the GB. The Atmosphere the fans bring to those cities was unreal. We all had a drink, and a laugh - but no or very little trouble. 10 years ago 80,000 went to Seville and there was no issues. The reason was if one person stepped out of line the other fans put them back in their place before drunken stupidity causes trouble to the club (fines) or more importantly the clubs reputation.

I see no evidence the GB are putting their idiot members or the hangers on in their place (again if you can show me a statement from the GB pleading with members/hangers on to listen to the club and cut out the **** - show me?) As a result of them being a large group its harder for the more moderate celtic fans to put them in their place also.

It may be coincidence - but as the GB has grown the level of trouble within our fanbase has grown too. Maybe its just a case of a more nedish society in general than 10 years ago?

However if the GB are serious that they arent the issue - then why not shout this from the rooftops? Why not put out statements condemning the bampots and, if applicable, their own members who overstep the lines? All i see is statements blaming the club for not speaking to them or standing up for them enough rather than taking a look at themselves

The truth will come out now , will they relocate or will they take the option to take their money back . My opinion is , it will be the second option, meaning they're more interested in themselves than the love of Celtic . This will make it harder for them to obtain away tickets ( they will though ) and I predict their behaviour will get worse than it is at the moment .

I tend to agree with this Harry. We'll find out their true intentions now, either they love Celtic and will support them no matter what or they are only interested in the self-importance and braggadocio we've come to expect from them.

Surely the Charity Events and the impressive displays that the GB have produced and paid for themselves while Celtic made money off the back of the displays already prove the GB are self interested

They should get jobs and watch the game on the internet like the rest of us <grr>

I'm both too busy and intelligent to even think about replying to the specific spasticities of that.

Celtic really need to stop promoting this "more than just a club" malarky
