"Wasn't Ronaldo or Beckham's right foot insured for something ridiculous in case of a career ending injury?"

    Probably.
But given the likelihood of it happening, I assume the premiums are high for both player and club.
On the latter, isn't this a reason touted why Levy was not interested in Ba from Newcastle etc ??

So, no comment on the media gagging order imposed by the club.

Unable to name a player who's kept you and the public most importantly up to date.

I haven't seen anyone who thinks the whole saga is BS and Bale will stay, call the rest deluded, just you calling everyone else it.

I don't think you understand the gravity of losing a player like Bale, and I'm not just talking about his exploits on the pitch, he now has massive commercial value, due to go through the roof over the next 12mths, see Roo's piece he posted this morning, funnily enough the very thing I said some days ago. You keep reading the Sun though! <ok>

Oh, and one more thing, in your post you say you'll forgive him if he signs a new deal, thats big of you, what exactly has Bale done wrong??

Well yes I'm sure the premiums were/are massive when you consider the amount of lost earning potential as well. I don't know about Ba, he's got a recurring knee/back injury hasn't he? I thought that was what put us off rather than insurance.

Notso I think you are being very harsh on TJ. What he has been saying is that he feels we can do just as good without Bale. I feel the same. While I would love us to keep him what I don't want is another Modric or Berbatov situation where this drags on right until the end of the transfer window disrupting the whole team and the start of the season. I think he is putting a positive spin on if the worst happened and Bale left.
Speculation over our best player and Arsenal not signing anyone, nothing changes hey!

They were a great side in the late 70's but they've never come close to having the cachet of Real.

Like everybody else, I would rather we had £100m to spend on players AND kept Bale. That is not going to happen. He has to go for us to move on. He is a great player yes, but he is NOT £100m great and we need to take advantage of the hype surrounding him to give us a push forward that only a new stadium would have done. Another thing to consider is that the rest of the squad would have to step up; At times last season it seemed that they felt with Bale in the side there was no great desperation to push for a win with him to pull something out of the bag. If we handle this right, it could be a watershed moment in our club's history.

I was under the impression the 'media gagging order' was as much rumour as everything else unless we have had it actually confirmed by someone - in which case just point it out rather than having a tantrum. You say what has he done wrong? Not committed us (which if we have confirmation that there is a gagging order on everyone then I have no problem.

I DO understand what he's worth - go head and read my older posts, but I also understand how damaging it could be if he throws a strop after bein forced to stay.

We clearly disagree and that's fine, and maybe I houkdnt have used the term deluded but you certainly overreacted as well so if we could put this behind Us rather than letting it drag on over nothing? <ok>

Sorry fr spelling (predictive text at work!)

Is he too expensive if Sig is sold for10-12m though? - Must consider that we have money to be made from player sales too, which will be a fair chunk. (unlike arsenal, who, if you look at sky's "Ins" and "outs" for each club, have managed to lose an entire 2nd string team/squad/reserve group this summer for £2m!!!)

not seen anything new at all today, other than rumours of interest in Sig and Ade. But i'm constantly looking. Oh, on the subject of Ade, there's rumours of personal problems with him at the moment. Family related from what I can gather.

this is the latest update on Bale that I've found:

    Afternoon all,

Apologies I couldn't get the update sorted this morning, been crazy at the office (the time of the year!) and am just having 30 minutes to myself, and so I could get this posted.

This whole Gareth thing has been blown WAY out of proportion! So I'm just going to lay down some facts here.

Gareth IS happy at the club and has NOT refused to train or play. He is not ready to play yet and that's the end of it, he should be fit soon.
Gareth has NOT said he wants to leave the club and if he does say this to us, it won't be for atleast another season yet.
He can see that we are showing intent to really challenge in the league, and he's over the moon at the new signings.
Gareths' agent has NOT caused this ****storm, the only negotiations with the club and Gareths' parentsm and agent is to try and get the best deal for him.
He has just signed some new endorsements and some massive marketing campaigns which will be very lucrative to both Gareth and his Agent.

There was some more information I wanted to post up, but having spoke to the interested parties, I'd stand to lose a lot of money and many contracts, since it would be obvious it's me that let the information out.

This information very fresh and it was revealed to me yesterday evening at a meeting with certain people involved in the Bale camp.

    Cheers,

    M

Spurcat told you first about the club going into media lock-down over Bale,
and the risk of employee dismissal.

Another 606 ITK corroborated it elsewhere (and provided details on a particularly
unpleasant event on that front) .

Like I said, the person clarifying the gagging order is an employee of THFC that uses this board. I'll first ask you if you're aware of this as you're new, and if you saw his post, if not, fair enough, its on page 187 this thread.

Modric threw a strop and was forced to stay...and played well.

You assume rather a lot, tantrum?? its how I speak and I've no time for sensitive souls, any tantrum from me will be by PM. <ok>

    all sorts of places mate.

I've spent about the last 18 months honing in on good media sources for info. A lot of it is still bullshit which needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, but I've narrowed it down quote well.

It's a mixture of twitter users, spurs community, one of our very own members (who we're very lucky to have) and other social media sources here and there. Obviously avoiding the likes of the papers, and the ****ty websites like Tribal football etc.

As I've always maintained, I simply pass on what seem like possible legit rumours. I am not ITK. It's just for the benefit of the board really. :)

Roo next time I'm back down south, we're going to meet up, bring your laptop and I will sit down with you and install a high quality firewall and we will block all the sites that are full of BS, it will leave you one site only http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/ ;)

but because you're a good guy, I'll forget to block twitter, just because it wouldn't be the same without you and your twitter updates!

  19. BALE IS GOING NOWHERE!

I'm sure that someone on this board has been saying that on a consistent basis for a very long time...
