It is, Hants could have set up a run chase if it had stayed dry.

Would have been very risky we would have set a pretty low target.

Not really, what's the risk? Finishing a place or two lower. We can't get relegated so I would say there is little risk. Anyway, irrelevant now.

Fair point but it's a draw. Hope we are a bit more penetrative on Weds!

One major worry for Wednesday's QF is that Carbs was seen with an ice pack on his ankle, according to Alan Mullally on Solent...hope it's not serious, we can't afford to lose him now.

I think it's safe to say he won't play tomorrow against Bangladesh.

In the Championship. We, however, are flying in the T20 competition.

Alex Crook has waded into cricket now...

"Not gonna be a popular opinion but how can a sport b taken seriously when you can win something as prestigious as the Ashes 'cause it rains?"

He has got a point, but until every Test stadium around the world has a roof (which will be never) Cricket matches will be determined by the weather.

If he had used the "retain" word he would have had a point, as England would have retained the Ashes if every day of every test had been abandoned due to the weather. As it is we could still win the series 4-0, which would be a hell of an achievement.

We've also got them in our next four day. With promotion realistically off the table now, is happily take a defeat in the four day game in exchange for a win on Wednesday.

Although I am confident about beating them on Wednesday, you can never be certain in t20. And in particular if the match gets shortened because of the rain - and the forecast I saw earlier today doesn't look too great. I'd rather Wednesday was washed out completely than some lucky 5 over thrash.
