"Report: Adel Taarabt close to Fulham move

By Matt Law, La Liga Correspondent
Filed: Monday, August 5, 2013 at 13:29 UK
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt is reportedly close to joining Fulham on a season-long loan.

The Moroccan international, who had been widely linked with a move abroad this summer, is one of a number of players expected to depart Loftus Road before the end of August.

A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in his services, but according to the Daily Telegraph, Fulham have emerged as the favourites to acquire the attacker on a loan deal.

Cottagers boss Martin Jol, who has been criticised for his inactivity in the transfer market this summer, worked with Taarabt when the pair were together at Tottenham Hotspur."

Time for frayed tempers between Harry and Adel to calm - a second chance for Adel in the Prem - gets a morose presence out of LR - but boy, we could have done with him on form in The Championship

This will become difficult if he lights up the premiership ... If we get back up then he must come home.

He is allows to be borrowed but he can't ever become a Fulham player ... I would prefer him to go to France

Totally agree Goldie. We could have done with his creative spark for the promotion push, but if he’s going to be in full-on sulk mode, then perhaps a seasons loan to our Jackson-loving neighbours is better for everyone all round.

On a personal note, if this does go ahead then what’s the etiquette on appropriate avatar names? Is it not “the done thing” to name yourself in honour of a player who is plying his trade elsewhere, even if that player is only out on loan?? <confused>

On the avatar from could you please change your name to be something to do with Barton? You've driven Gorkss out and look likely to do the same with Adel, I'd really appreciate it!

Some good ideas posted here re your new name, TIMK, but Roller's idea of having Barton in your kitchen may be stressful...

I'm surprised it is a loan if indeed it is. It seems to me that Adel has fallen out of love with QPR and, just as it is rare to get back with an ex, I can't see him coming back to Loftus Road.

One scenario where I might see him returning is if he behaves at Fulham (or anywhere else for that matter) as he did while with us and gets 'what for' from his team mates and manager. He may then realise that he is a spoilt brat (and I am a fan actually!) and put his house in order and get back 'home'. Long shot I think.

Well if he goes and does well, even to 70% of his potential, then a bigger club will be in for him next summer and we are quids in. If he does not so well, no change.

of course the best outcome would be for him to stay and do well.

Its Redknapp, theres a chance he could be back if Redknapp goes by the summer and theres a decent chance of that.

Some excellent ideas there lads, keep it up <ok>

However, aware though I am of the curse of my avatar, Goldie has hit the nail on the head. I fear that if I take on the identity of the intellectual powerhouse that is Joseph Barton, even if only in a virtual sense, that I’ll end up about as popular as a turd in a lunchbox.

If we're still in the Championship by the summer then Adel won't be coming back, regardless of whether HR's the manager or not.

At least it's only a loan.

There would be uproar if it was a permanent move.

I hope we're getting at least a mill for this loan.

Taraabt doesn't look too out of love with the club in the Tunnel Cam video! He probably just cba with another championship season. He got us out of it, then the rest of these mugs got us relegated.

Would there? Really? I am a fan of the guy and love to see him play at his 'mercurial' best but enough is enough for me. If you don't want to play for QPR, for whatever reason, then good bye and good luck.

There is of course a flip side ... Fulham fans like to sing little songs about QPR ... (I used to go to some Premiership games when QPR weren't playing in London.)

Adel fluffs his lines and they may turn on him ... he won't feel the love then and he could come running home
