OK...... I'll post it..... ACCRINGTON STANLEY? WHO ARE THEY? EXACTLY. edit: I'm at work and Youtube is blocked.......so didn't see your video link. I feel stupid now.
Cheers Dev - loved that ad back then and love it now....rose tinted I know but they just don't make em like that anymore.
One of the masterpieces of advertising, that brings a new expression to the vernacular infested tongue that is English. Up there with the likes of; "Course you can Malcolm" "It's in the wrist action" "Naughty but nice", I could go on, as most of you are already aware.
Ok, I didn't cheat and just Google it, but I came across the answer to the question while looking at pompey memorbilia for my Dad on eBay........ The answer is 1959......but I don't think I deserve a prize.
Pompey's game at Accrington next week: How many Pompey fans will be there? On the plus side: A lot of fans enjoy a long away day trip. You will very probably be going to a ground you've never been to before. On the minus side: It's a lunch time kick off and live on the telly. It's a long and expensive journey to make Are you going? If not, would you have gone if it hadn't been on the telly?
They say they are just following previous practice - which is another argument in itself. But it does seem that this was just not thought through. An answer may well come from the Fans Conference as they try and consult with as many fans as they can get to.
If you're interested, here's part of the argument regarding season tickets - this is for home matches. http://pompeyroyal.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/getting-ticket-for-home-matches-lets.html?m=1
I see his point, but if FP is a sellout for every game, that's got to be the number one priority. If he can't get to every game, there must be a person he could share with in today's it friendly society.
Too far, I think my away day distance limit is around Yorkshire, and that's only if I find someone to go with. On my own I think my limit is the Midlands.
Accrington is a town in the Hyndburn borough of Lancashire, England. It lies about 4 miles east of Blackburn, 6 miles west of Burnley, 20 miles north of Manchester city centre and is situated on the mostly culverted River Hyndburn. There you go Lapras Tbh - I thought it was nearer Merseyside - good job I'm not going then, as I'd have got lost
Accrington Stanley, who are they? Well on this map is another place that had a team in the league a long time ago. Can you guess who it is? please log in to view this image
