My thoughts exactly. If he was a foreign import of similar age, it would be a different story. He changed games in some of the Europa league ties. And I can guarantee half the fans on here saw very little of him at boro last season.

I'd say give the lad a chance. Maybe loan him out til Xmas and see how he gets on. Too early to make a decision on him IMO.

Mate we've all seen plenty of Sammy. You rate him, others do, many don't. Just opinions, you can only call it as you see it.

I believe we've really given up on him too early. The lad is only what 20? And many are prepared to say he won't ever cut it. From what he's shown, I've seen enough to suggest he may turn out good. The phrase "won't ever cut it" are reserved for players like Abeid, Amouthful, Obertan, whom we've seen enough to suggest they can't improve anymore. Sammy is raw, has no experience and that can be gained through games. I saw him cross the ball into the box with 0 players inside last season, and I also saw him weave his way past several defenders and unleashing a ferocious shot to win us a game against (who was it, scunthorpe or ?)

My point here is that there is potential, and there is boneheaded play both in the same player. If he can become a smarter player, don't you think he'll turn out good eventually? He has tremendous upside , look at his long strides and ball control for such a lanky dude. Think what he'll become if he improves his crossing, technique and eventually adds on some heading ability. The dude is freaking 1.9m and might still be growing taller still... Give him some time, at least he has earned that much.

I'd rather see Sammy developing than take 800k and then see him grow at Boro and sold for a higher fee eventually.

Not good enough but 800k is neither hear nor there, loan him out for the season and see what happens.
Can't believe that Sammy is rated at 800k and we let Perch go for 700 ?
Rather have kept Perch and sold Sammy if we are that desperate for cash. At least Perchy was premium quality.

i do agree about giving him more time but i have to say we seen more of Sammy play than Abeid or Amalfitano mate. Mind we've seen far too much of Obertan

With all that I said, I agree. Still, give Sammy at least a year or two, no point giving up on him so soon for a pittance fee.
