    2.35 Amno Dancer

Two reasons - firstly Greatest Dancer won for me yesterday, so I am following the dancers!!! However more importantly the yard are in great form and this one has gone close over CD prior to a poor run at Newcastle. 8/1 is a fair EW price

Not madly impressed with St Nicholas Abbey there. I think Midday should have won but Tom Queally went to the front too soon. And St Nicholas Abbey still made hard work of getting there. If Tom had held onto the mare a furlong longer then i think he could have quickened clear and stayed there. By going so soon he allowed St Nicholas Abbey time to get going and get past her.

The race time was a little outside the standard so nobody can really complain about it being a falsely-run small field affair; however, I do not think that St Nicholas Abbey handled the descent around Tattenham Corner at all. Ryan Moore was having to scrub at him and he did hang away towards the middle of the course in the straight, possibly because of the camber.

The slight uphill last hundred yards are what won the favourite the race. Tom Queally had committed Midday early but I did not see that he really had much option in such a small field. At that point it looked like St Nicholas Abbey had shot his bolt but he was able to rally once Ryan got him levelled out and running. It was no help to Midday that her opponent was far enough wide of her that she could not get into a proper battle.

It is a shame that Henry Cecil has not been able to break his Coronation Cup hoodoo today as I did think that Midday represented a fantastic chance. Hopefully they do not give up on giving her chances against the colts although I do expect that she will target some fillies-only races like the Yorkshire Oaks and the Prix Vermeille.

Although it was a pity for Midday, and particularly HC, I thought it was a very exciting race and probably good for racing that SNA is back. Memories of Alcide. It would be fantastic if he could win the Arc. Any views on his chances?

I have to have a go at the Oaks. If I pick the favourite it's bound to lose so I'm going for Wonder of Wonders, Beatrice Aurore and Zain al Bordan, in that order.
