Gonna be bit outspoken and on my own i think here.

Have no problem going in with jack n Gardner at full backs, surely the cover comes through roberges, diakite, I like the vision from Gardner and jack looks solid. Wes looks outstanding wish he was 21.

Midfield, loving cabal, giacchini looks quality in bits, but I thought Larson (not a fan) was very good.

Upfront, thinking for a beast of a man altidore looks bit feeble to be honest, thought Connors second half performance was much better.

Like the look of hadji ba for the future.

How daunting 25million players coming after you one after another, obscene.

Decent effort without really looking like winning it.

Forgive spellings can't keep up with them all

Hope you enjoyed Turkey mate <ok>

We have wide men who like to cut inside. So long as we don't have natural, touchline hugging, attacking fullbacks on each side to overlap, then our attacking options are limited, will be much more predictable and completely lack width. Jack and Gards should be no more than cover for the fullback and midfield positions imo.

No mention of Moberg Karlsson who looked to know what he was doing for a 19 year old, very promising.

Can Wes Brown stay fit - total class - fingers crossed.

    O'Shea still looking good.

What happened to the good old days when wingers did it themselves and took people on rather than cutting inside, I get what you mean but which one is failing a defender who is less capable of attacking or a winger who can't go both ways. Think both modern day fullbacks and wingers who can do what I say are dying breeds and hard to come by, hence the premium for ones who can.

Turkey bri was bloody hot, not complaint as raining in Hartlepool currently

Didn't mention karlsson as didn't think he did much in final which was the game I referred to, however I agree looked decent against spurs.

it's just the way football is evolving innit. Inside forwards are in fashion.

It's been hot here mind you. Lots of storms but bloody hot. 34/35 degrees, Probably what Turkey should be now. Bet it was hitting 40 over there was it?

Gardner and Colback are not even Championship standard full backs IMO and I really don't know what other can see that I cant? If we go into the new season with these two as our first choice full backs, then all the good work and more importantly the goodwill created will dissipate, as they will be our weakest links just as they were last season. Both are painfully short of pace and both have awful positional sense. Gardner gave a host of free licks away playing there and at least 2 penalties. They were a disaster IMO. Colback had a great game against Everton and as stand ins for 1 or 2 games they are okay but to start the season with them as the main ones is plain dumb.

Two central midfielders as your two first choice full backs is the game plan of an utter fool. I will be amazed if we do that as PDC doesn't seem that stupid?

    I desperately hope.

Disagree with you what i have seen of wor Jackie his defensive skills are good , hes has overcome a lot of expensive attacking wingers, and indeed had some in his back pocket, his passing is very good rarely makes mistakes . when he does make runs in the box no bugger passes to him which means

    A. HIS SHOOTING IS CRAP
    B. THE ****ERS DON'T THINK HE CAN SCORE

I have seen Jack make some outstanding runs to get into position from L/B but when hes there he doesn't get the ball, with a good pre season and the rest of the team working with him i can only see him going from strength to strength, BUT we deffo need a right back to replace Bardot. for me im happy with Jack as L/B as all the people were linked with arnt as good as what we have already. he could make this position his own for years if he knuckles down to making it his.

I've never seen colback play a bad game at full back for a while, maybe he's growing into the position, young enough to learn, coincide a little on Gardner he can be hasty in the challenge and prone to giving pennas.

However, I said two other things expecting to get mauled, whicham over altidore, and Larson very comfortable in the centre and in that game close to our man of the match IMO
