Well I'm sure our Emirates Cup performances are going to continue the good mood in the club, every player right now is thinking the same thing, we need new signings, that's a fact.

Drogba still has the ability to dominate defences though, even at his age. All great players have it. Saw it with Henry a couple seasons ago.

The squad has been cleared of deadwood to make room for new players. Wenger hassaid the club are stil working on more than one signings. No idea why your acting as if your the voice of reason when all your doing is demandign the club do what they are already working hard to do...

Drogba has crushed many an Arsenal defenders careers, remember Senderos? But agreed, Miguel is out of his depth and looked poor. Just imagine if Drogba came on earlier?

We've heard it all before, about working hard to sign players, and nothing happens. We got rid of deadwood last season, and still didn't make the needed reinforcements.

I'm not demanding the club work hard to make signings, I'm demanding THEY MAKE SIGNINGS, they've had a long time to do it, and so far it seems they're incompetent at it, I don't want to hear excuses of oh we worked hard but couldn't do it, that ain't good enough, get the job done, we need players, not excuses of how hard they're working and getting nothing done. The clubs around us have all made improvements, why the f--k can't we yet, why does it take so long, and why is it such a drag when it comes to our club in making the needed improvements?

The way things are going, i'd rather a 40+ Dennis Bergkamp to some of the dross we've been offering up. Anyway, some observations from the pre-season so far.

    1. Ox is not a midfielder, he's nowhere near good enough in possession, and gives the ball away willy nilly
    2. Arteta and Ramsey are our best CM duo, don't know why, but it seems to work
    3. Giroud is a League 1 calibre striker.
    4. Per Mertesacker needs Laurent Koscielny, today highlighted how good Kos is, we're lost without him.
    5. Even though he didn't do much today, Zelalem looks like a 1st teamer. Set up a good looking counter which Ox ruined, and looks very composed in possession, rare for such a young player
    6. Did i mention how bad Giroud is?
    7. Rosicky is our best CAM, and when on form, our best player, full stop.
    8. Theo Walcott is the most selfish Arsenal player since Marc Overmars, and nowhere near as talented.

Sad thing is the other teams have taken the competition more casually than us, doing more replacements earlier, and trying more players. We've actually had more first team players on than any of the other teams.

Like I said on the Gervinho thread our squad depth at this point is abysmal. We need a minimum of 4 players (CB, DM, CF, Winger) that will compete for places NOW, not Sanogo type signings.

Lol , other teams buy players that are just at their prime , or just slightly past it , and have some success .

Arsene sticks to his principles and brings young new talent ( rarely but sometimes ) through .

Then when the reach thier prime , the fack off to the other teams that are buying players at thier prime .

We are always gonna be on the losing end of that scenario , better get used to it .

If Hansen had not been referring to a SAF team , he would have been right .......".you will never win anything with kids ". :cheesy:

The only players we've recently signed who are in their primes (and actually good enough, so Giroud can piss off, still unsure on Podolski) are Arteta and Cazorla, and it's no coincidence that they're 2 of our best players.

Um, you dislike me whether I'm saying our players are poor or whether I am saying they did a brilliant job. Not surprising you aren't even waiting to hear my opinion before you find fault with what I say.

Because i know in advance what you're going to say. It'll be along the lines of "oh well, it's only pre-season, and at least the youth got a game, and Wenger is still jesus"

Who said Sanogo is the next Anelka? lol.

We will have to agree to disagree on signings as i think its stupid to judge the transfer window almost a month before its over.

It's a lose-lose situation, if we'd won we would have heard the same tired rhetoric about only being to win a pre-season friendly, lose, and the levels of abuse would have been the same. Stupid tournament, they should cancel it indefinitely.

Can we ban this guy off our board please - he has nothing to contribute and spends his whole time winding us up. He needs to go.
