Interesting too see, i have just remembered why i dont remember all this i was on holiday! Paterson scored didnt he?
Haha i wish, no just the start of the season... I remember a lot of that year, the first quarter is just a bit fuzzy
If you mean just the Championship years before the drop into League One, I have sort of managed to blot them out with the exception of a few games like Wolves 6-0 and the two Derby play-off matches. Awful, awful time in the club's history.
For me, it is Premier League and then Markus bought us. There's a fuzzy few years in between where we had a play-off match and saved ourselves from relegation on one occasion. Apart from that, nothing. I think Nicola has had my memory wiped.
That's another way of describing how I see it. Amazing how the brain can rub out unwanted memories. Or, as you say, it has all been Nicola's doing.
Everyone must remember the game against Sheffield united, such a good game. Still like watching back the football league shows highlights of it when they ran highlights of all the relegation teams simultaneously
That's one of the few, and I only remember Stern John's contribution anyway, ie that goal and the sending off. In all honesty, I don't even want to remember those seasons. Every time someone mentions Bale, Walcott, Surman, Jones and the notable Others who went out the door so the club could be shored up for another few months, I inwardly shudder. The ridiculous thing is that it's not the mediocrity on the pitch that I want to forget. It was whole mess upstairs in the boardroom that makes me want to erase those seasons. I actually feel slightly ill now, after recalling all of that. Is there any chance we can keep this topic to July 2009 and after from now on..?
That Sheffield united game was unbelievable! Stern John was one of the most inconsistent players ever, but on his day he was class. Am I right in saying there was a pitch invasion? I vaguely remember being on the pitch, but there's been so many in recent years!
Yes there was. Remember shaking our then loanee keeper Richard Wright and Nigel Pearson's hand after the game.
Wasn't Stern John's first yellow for taking his shirt off after his first goal. If we went down for that... Billy Sharp was on the Sheff team that day. As was the late Gary Speed.
you're forgetting all those great bale free kicks, Theo's debut game, chris baird's siiiiiick goal against Cardiff to name but a few!
