I agree. Gerv still offered us something, even if the majority of the time it was a bambi like run into the box only to hoof it wide or scuff it off of his shin. There were times where he looked like he was going to make it. But seeing as he's gone, along with Chamakh, Arshavin and Bendtner finished, then I would expect us to be looking to bring in a repacement for him.
This is the clearest sign yet for me that we are confident of completing our transfer business. So far we have removed deadwood, now we have got rid of one of the not so good players from the squad, but a player who did have a part to play last season. This suggests to me we definately have another forward comming in, probably a LWF, on top of a striker and possibly other players.
Exactly this. The problem is, for us to get back to a position to challenge, we need players that will be consistent. What is clear is Wenger is shipping out players, that a few years back, he would persist with for longer. This does look like good news as it appears that he's finally ending the era of budget buys and austerity. Now we are waiting for these new players to be brought in.....
I think we will be pleasently suprised by the end of the transfer window. All the signs are that we will be making signings and with so many players shipped out and previous comments that we neededto move them on to brign new players in, i think it's highly likely we will see additions.
