Prior and Broad can play with a bit of freedom now really. Anything else they get is a bonus because it's impossible really how either team can win this match.

I mentally set a target of getting within 150 of the Aussies to have a chance in this test match. May not quite get there, but good enough to make it tough for the Australians to win this. Time is not on their side, unless they set a reasonable target then give themselves time to skittle us. Don't want to tempt fate, but that is unlikely.

Well that seems to have done the trick. Both set batsmen out for Glamorgan!

I expect the Aussies to set a target of at least 350, more likely 400, if they can score at 3.5/4 runs an over it's likely that they will declare tonight (if they are not bowled out)..that means that England will have to survive on Monday to retain the Ashes.

Yeah, they really needed to win this match to gain some momentum, not going to happen now....why the hell was Tommo dropped for this match?, was he injured?

Yes, invariably these days they extend the final session by 30 sessions. But invariably the 90 overs still go unbowled. If they don't get them in now, they're certainly not going to get them in with even more breaks being added in.

And, as others have said and I have alluded to, these breaks would be totally farcical.

But yes, it does appear that a much faster version of snicko will soon be available. And that would be great.

I assume you haven't just realised this haha.

We haven't been able to take 20 wickets for a few years now, barring Tahir's first three months with us (and even then, it was all down to him). Tomlinson is currently our one and only decent four day bowler.

For years now they've either been too injury prone, not good enough, too defensive (good for limited overs cricket, but not for FC cricket), and/or of a young enough age that they've grown up on a large diet of t20 and one-day cricket.

Nothing really wrong with our batting line-up, save for a massive lack of depth to cover injury/form etc, but because of our bowling I've long since accepted that we're not getting promotion.

Throw in losing Dimi's limited overs bowling, and this winter is very important for Rod and Chalky in terms of trying to recruit bowlers.

Wife has gone into labour. We'd have never willingly dropped him!!! (Balcombe on the other hand was dropped).

Depends largely on the weather. If it does stay away for long enough, then this match is still very much on because Australia will have to pull out at some point and set us something.
