Where have you pulled that number from? He's only ever made 36 PL appearances across 3 seasons; even with a substitute England cap, it's never going to be that much.
Just seen James Mclean at sunderland is interesting Blackburn, on a season long loan. Wonder if Brucey fancies him. He bought him originally. Think he could do a job for us. Strong hard working wide player.
He never played him, he didn't get a game until O'Neil came in. He started brilliantly, then fell off a cliff, the Sunderland fans can't wait to see the back if him now.
Bruce bought him for the future i know. Second season syndrome is all in a poor team too. Think he's too good to go into the championship. I'd have him here.
Sunderland fans think he's a one trick pony. He didn't endear himself after refusing to wear a Poppy shirt either.
James McClean isn't favoured at the Mackems anymore. From what they've said, and from what I've seen (or technically lack of) on MOTD, I'd rather have Brady/Figeruoa or Elmohamady/Rosenior (whatever side he plays) on that side. He wouldn't fit into the team unless we went with a formation with a winger.
I do think we need a tricky right winger for if/when we switch to back 4 formations. If we are ever to play 4-5-1 I don't think Elmo will give the striker the support he needs, he is very much a wide player and never ventures out of that wide berth. I'm not saying James McLean is the answer, he's a **** ****.
He's a midfielder who plays for Sunderland, don't think he'll sign a new contract and we've been linked with him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Colback
4.5m is a wee bit high though. Odd that Di Canio likes him and he wants to go unlike most of the rest of last seasons squad.
I think he's just about Corry Evans footballing twin. Very similar playing style and ability, Colback a bit better. I think.
