As we rattle towards the season ahead, I thought it might be time to gather some views on how people see it going, who will be the star etc etc. Of course it would have been nice to do this after we had signed some players................but I'm bored

Where will we finish? 13th-15th (Unless we sign Remy and Gomis. If we do then I could see us pushing for the 5th-7th bracket - injuries and tactics permitting)

I think we'll suprise a lot of people this season and finish in the top 6 again.

Cisse will be top scorer (over 20 goals)

Santon will be suprise package

Pardew will be manager of the year and getting an extra award for chinning Di Canio(twice)

Uncle Joe's heart will go from strength to strength as the season progresses culminating in him scaling Everest in his Y fronts and persuading Barcelona to sell us Messi for £2 million euros.

 

I hate to be a wet blanket, but unless onme of the increasingly suspect transfeers happens:

We finish 18th -16th
Cisse will be top scorer with less than 15
Colo most apperances and best player.
Marveau the suprise package
Dummy the kid who makles the step up.

Most Appearances? Krul or Colo but I would love to see an injury free season for Stephen Taylor.
Top performer? Tiote he was shocking last season, so he can only get better.

Can't look past 14th for this but considering the surprisingly crap form of last season should really be a one-off there is room to hope for higher

Probs cisse but not by a special amount. In true form is quiet until january then pops ten in whilst still breassking offside records

Krul/Debuchy. More for the lack of better options in those positions
Who will be the top performer?
Think Krul's gunna have a good year, if we get gomis i reckon he'll take to the prem perfectly.

Anita- although we're all aware of his talent he will break into the team this year.
Which young player will make the breakthrough?
Wish it was campbell but more likely bigi, think he is one of newcastle's future stars, was so impressed with him last season.
How many points do you think we'll take from the derbies? 3. A win at our place, a gut-wrenching loss at theirs.

Which senior player will be the surprise package? (performance wise JPF - not their junk) - MYM (not a surprise based on talent, just that he should look more settled and I see him being regular partner to Colo)
Which young player will make the breakthrough? - Vuckic (I know he's had his chances, but if he can stay fit I think he could be an important player this season)
How many points do you think we'll take from the derbies? - 4

 

Where will we finish? 9th- 11th
Who will be top scorer? Cisse
Who will make the most appearances? Jonas (Kidding, hopfully anyways) Debuchy
Who will be the top performer? Krul/YMB
Which senior player will be the surprise package? Anita
Which young player will make the breakthrough? Vuckic/Bigi (besides Ferguson whose on loan and campbell who might go out on loan, there's no young players that will be above mid tier championship level)
How many points do you think we'll take from the derbies? 1 (sorry for the pessimism but with Pardew in charge i don't see us having much hunger)

 

Where will we finish? (say a three place band i.e 13th-15th) 6-8th many contributing factors to last seasons poor showing but Demba aside we have the same team that finished 5th plus Debuchy, Sissoko, Gouff and M'biwa. If we can get the Ba replacement (or better) then why can't we perform to a similar level again. Won't get 5th as Chelsea will be much stronger again.

Normally I'm a "the glass is half full and there is a likelihood of precipitation which means we'll need a bigger glass" type of person. At this point, though, I need a little encouragement fro the club.
