Completely different . As you say there's a debate going on in Scotland and then there will be a vote . There will be very few carbombs left in main streets and set off at peak times in order to slaughter as many women and children as possible . Got to love those Irish ideals of self determination and freedom .
Which is why the conviction rate under the new legislation for those who have pleaded not guilty when charged for singing Republican songs sits at a whopping 0%.
The number of car bombs left in main streets and set off at peak times in order to slaughter as many women and children as possible by the Provisional wing of the IRA sits at a whopping 0. The number of songs sang by Republicans about car bombs left in main streets and set off at peak times in order to slaughter as many women and children as possible by the Provisional wing of the IRA sits at a whopping 0. So..... Another Fail from the High Chief of fail.
You're a harsh man. Admittedly, I got a bit frustrated, at times, with him but two goals to his credit can't be argued with and it doesn't matter how they come about. I still say he needs a run of games before a fair assessment can be made. In other words, give him a fair chance and he may turn out fine ... just like Georgios Samaras and Scott Brown!
when sammi and brown were being written off I maintained they would come good despite many if not most believing the contrary - especially sammi - I couldn't believe people couldn't see the ability and football intelligence he had ..... I just don't see that with stokes at all.
I thinks Stokes is a good player and he will score goals for us but...I don't believe he's the striker we need and I don't think Neil Lennon does either. I suspect (and I hope) that the scouts are acting on behalf of the club to find a straight replacement for Hooper. It should be a priority.
The one thing that gives me hope for Anthony Stokes is that he's always involved - frustrating at times while, at others, scoring goals and making clever passes/runs. I too saw the potential in Georgios Samaras and Scott Brown when the former was at his most frustrating with his meandering runs going nowhere and the latter seemingly a hot-headless chicken but likewise, both always involved ... and as I think I've mentioned before, he's about three years younger than the both of them so he can still learn/be coached to improve. I also believe that Neil Lennon is going to give him every chance now that Gary Hooper is gone and lets face it, if he keeps scoring goals that win games, like yesterday, the frustrating bits of his play will fade from memory!
Very few folk said that George was never a player. Lots said he was never going to be a player for us. That is something different. Folk said Sammy hid.... I never ever saw that.even when he was ****e. I don't know how many will admit to it now. I am not sure people are making the same sorts of accusations against Stokes. He will score goals for us. He will set up chances. I am also sceptical as to whether he can do it in Europe, but I guess he has suffered from missing out in the past so we are already predisposed to thinking that he can't.
Samaras has bags of talent/skill/ability - the reason folk got frustrated with him as he, for whatever reason, rarely showed it. We are now starting to see this - still frustrating at times but defo a first choice. Stokes...I see less talent/skill/ability and I don't rate him as anything more than a squad player. If he went, I wouldn't really care.
I see where you are coming from, but he'll always get more goals than Samaras. He's the best finisher in the country IMO.
Agree, but I no longer see Sammy as a Striker... more of an attacking midfielder/trequartista. This is why I no longer get frustrated with him as he bring more to the team in his all round game. Maybe Stokes will prove me (and others) wrong by stepping up to score as many goals as Hooper but I cant see him being a success. Him and Balde a combo in the future (tall n small)? Who you see as Stokes' strike partner.
I don't really know. The way the team was set up yesterday would be just about exactly what I think it is Lennon wants, but with a different striker to Stokes.....essentially another Gary Hooper . Finbogasson looks like the sort of lad who would be perfect in that set up. I think Stokes would be a serviceable understudy to both the Commons role and (as he did yesterday) as the sole striker. For Europe, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sammy in that role, accepting everything you say about him as a non-scoring forward player. Domestically that is a non starter. We may playa 3-5-2 more often, or a 3-2-3-1-1...... I can see Stokes scoring as many goals as Hooper. Can see that very easily....the big game performances against the big teams.... I share the concerns expressed here. **** it, I dunno. Maybe play 12 players.
Someone has changed Doyle's wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Doyle (probably fixed by the time you click it)
I suppose wages maybe an issue ... however, if wages were reasonable (£20/30K) then as a one off (looking at the amount of money generated) I want to see Celtic sign someone rated as much as this guy.
Interesting fact, Kenny Jackett has a wooden leg which is faulty and badly fitted. Hence the oft used "Jackett's on a Shoogly peg" phrase.
