The trouble with a goalie is make three saves and one mistake, the mistake is what people remember. But today he never had 3 saves to make, and the mistake was possibly one of the worse one seen for a while, total rush of blood to the head situation. <ok>

He will redeem himself I'm sure

He didn't have a lot to do to be fair-Their first goal had to be put down to him. It was one of those awkward ones where if he had committed earlier, he might have brought their man down, given away a pen and got sent off- Instead he delayed and came out of his area for a ball that he wasn't likely to get- Caught out of position, Wells was never going to miss with an empty goal.

Bradford had a free kick in the first half and JET was asking Fielding what he wanted in the wall. Early days for the defence, but the GK does need to take command in those situations. Overall, I am hopeful that we have a good keeper. Bit early to tell after one game.

It's not his passing ability that is his problem!
It's his reading or lack of reading of dangerous situations in and near our penalty box. He seems to me to be very reactive after a situation develops rather than proactive before.
A bit like a car driver who only ever reacts to things that arise, rather than being aware of what can be about to happen.

I obviously was not there today so I cannot comment on how he played. But his record and performances over the last three seasons make me absolutely sure that he is well past it even at League One level so needs to be replaced now. I'll put up with Williams making mistakes this season through inexperience because he has a chance to learn from them. But Fonts is well past that stage in his career.

And as for Fielding, every player and especially a keeper has a bad moment like he had today, but it's how he reacts in the next few games that we should judge him on. Not on one clanger.

Wagstaff got at the game- I would have given it to Flint. Won everything in the air.

Wynter for me, he is going to be a star for us. Oozes the Arsenal way very calm.

I very much liked the look of Wagstaff, and Wynter is a hugely assured presence in the centre.

Fielding had no chance with the second; he was as blameless for that as he was culpable for the first.

Bradford were no fools. Two teams trying to play football. Not bad for Division Three.

I cannot remember Fontaine winning a ball in the air and the same old frailties were there. wrong side of the ball/player and caught out a couple of times. I was a big fan of Fontaine's when he first came to the gate, so don't know where things have gone wrong? Perhaps a change of club would do him good.
Man of the match for me was Baldock, ran his heart out, harried defenders got into some good positions and had intelligence to look up and slot ball to JET for goal. Can see a good partnership[ developing between Jet and Baldock this season.

I think SOD has unearthed a little diamond in Pack, he really looked the part when he came on, I'd play him from the start on Tuesday......

Fontaine didn't have a terrible game, if you judge him by his low standards from last season. Unfortunately he hasn't looked a good player in a long time, but I think having Flint next to him may bring him back to previous levels.

I called 2-2 before the game (and won enough to pay for my night/day). Why did I think 2-2? A new side still suffering the hamgover of relegation, against a side with lots of momentum behind them. Bradford looked very, very average and I think with more cohesion City would beat them comfortably.

Early days and I personally think the positves far outwiegh the negatives.

MOM -Flint going to be a rock at the back. Followed closely by winter.

I need to see more of pack to make judgement on him,but hey again hopefully a good signing by SOD.

Sorry but Pack is the one signing SOD cant take credit for. Pack and his agent rang our club and asked for a trial. Which he got and he himself earned a contract. Unlike, Flint, Wynter, Fielding etc Pack had to do the work to come here. SOD didn't go out and bring pack in himself. All SOD did was opened the door and let him in.

All very true but SOD made the final decision and the fact Pack was so determined makes it good all round...

That makes him even better in my eyes then, a player that wants to be here. I got to say I thought he looked a steal his passing is just fantastic. Can you imagin

Kelly Wynter and Pack in the same team?

Fonts is a liability and should not be playing, Killkenny was he usual sideways and back and cost us thge 2nd goal be giving the ball away deep in their half. fielding at best looked a 'dodgy keeper' JET looked good but could do with improved fitness, liked waggy, Wynter and Pack, MOM?? had to be Flint for me, very good at this level, won everything in the air looked pretty useful with the ball to feet. Baldock, really thought he was quite poor, but then had little possession.
