I wish there was a camera on Lambert on the sidelines watching those penalties, don't know whether he'd have been laughing or crying. <laugh>

Poche needs to hand Rickie a coaching kit and get him to put the lads through their paces in a few hours of penalty-taking training tomorrow.

Guly's definitely taken a penalty for us in the past, and scored it. Can't remember when, in league one probably.

There were many more positives than negatives from tonight's game, in my opinion.

Yea our finishing still seems to be a problem, think we need that added striker pronto!

I heard it more as "Wonder Pruce" and what a very good performance he put in. Wonder-ful range of passing, especially the one which started the Julie chance.
Mayuka was doing his best Papa waigo impression with the offsides.

Guly put in a good shift and seemed all over the place and one player not afraid to run with the ball in the 2nd half side.

Shaw knock did not seem too bad and hopefully he will be ok. Could tell from that game that he will features more offensively this season as his engine improves.

To be fair one of Mayuka's offsides in the right hand channel was not his fault, and you can tell he was absolutely fuming at Davis who took an age to play it despite Mayuka telegraphing the run quite clearly. Felt for him a bit because I was keeping an eye on him and he made a lot of good runs where he could have been found with fairly simple passes but he was ignored or played in late. Don't think him playing up front alone is a viable option, he only has one outlet and would be fairly effective if we utilised it but he is constantly isolated and working as a player outside the rest of the team, which is not solely his fault at all.

I thought that was an excellent pre season game. Thought first half, especially, we were excellent and created some good openings. Finishing lacking a bit, maybe underlining our need for another striker, and Mayuka was doing his best Papa impression - being constantly offside. Good workout though and think we look in decent shape for the start of the season.

    Penalties ****ing **** though.

I reckon we decided before the shoot out that it would be a nice touch to let them keep their cup

So we've used up our quota of scores in that 8 zero versus Palamos. That's how soccer works right?

Was fairly impressed with both Lovren and Wanyama this evening. I also agree a new striker would seem a major priority, but I do believe our strikers will find their shooting boots before too long. Can't complain too much though, 13 goals in 5 pre-season games. Just might not of been our night tonight.

Only saw snippets, but that was a lovely cross from Chambers onto Rickie's head. Shame he couldn't put it away.

Hearing Luke's taken a knock, anyone know how severe? He tweeted a thumbs down after the game? Never read to much into his criptic messages?

Indeed I saw that, hopefully he was just disappointed about the result, he seemed OK when he carried on after his knock so hopefully couldn't be anything too severe.

Yep, I'm positive if Rickie's not on the park we are ****e at taking penalties?

Not exactly. I'd say if Rickie, Gaston, Morgan, Wanyama, Lallana, Rodriguez are not on the park then we're ****e at taking penalties. Now admittedly the one pen Rodriguez took was unconvincing at best and we haven't seen the others apart from Rickie take pens but surely some of them are capable penalty takers.

Jim Lucas says Luke seems fine and didn't seem to be injured. Precaution from Pochettino, I guess.
