We will sign at least 1 more striker even if we keep Fletcher imo, with ji and Wickham looking likely to move on, Fletcher won't be fit until September apparently, we only have altidore and sessegnon so I reckon we'll sign at least one striker, or two if sessegnon leaves
Don't think so, He certainly won't sell out the injured players until he's seen them regardless of what the clueless Rags say. So flech and catts won't have been judged yet. Brown has just come back and straight away PDC is looking at him.
Everyone at the club rates Ji, I know a lot of fans say he's ****, I don't think I'm qualified to judge as I've only seen him play for us but it seems there's a lot of people watching german football. I think the only way Ji is leaving is if he forces a move but even then there's no one interested in him that I know of.
I think Ji will end up staying. Probably have a strike force of Fletch, Altidore, Sess, Ji & Wickham An extra if Wickham leaves Which will not be Insigne
Not looking good unless we are going back with a mega deal. http://www.europacalcio.it/news/ag-insigne-il-napoli-ha-rifiutato-unofferta-del-sunderland-e-lui-vuole-restare-ma-19784.html Lorenzo Insigne will not leave Naples. Was reported by the player's agent, Antonio Ottaiano, told Sky: "Napoli has rejected an offer from Sunderland for Lorenzo, he loves the city and believes he can give so much to the team, he also won the trust of Benitez . However, the company had promised us in the second half of the season that we would meet to define his contract. Expect this meeting to evaluate. "
So another Sunday has arrived, that can only mean there are more names for us to add to the ever-growing list of rumoured transfer targets. But first, the formalities. Valentin Roberge (Maritimo) Mobido Diakite (Lazio) Diogo Viana (F.C. Penafiel) Danny Rose (Tottenham) Emmanuel Cascione (Pescara) Danilo D'Ambrosio (Torino) El Hadji Ba (Le Havre) Mauro Zarate (Lazio) Bas Dost (Wolfsburg) George Mandjeck (Auxerre) Charlie Austin (Burnley) Alfred Finnbogason (SC Heerenveen) Greg Sandomierski (Genk) Tom Allan (York City) Salif Sane (Nancy) Cabral (Basel) Lucas Orban (Tigre) Gary Hooper (Celtic) Fraser Forster (Celtic) Milos Krasic (Fenerbache) Wilfried Bony (Vitesse) Grant Holt (Norwich) Andreas Weimann (Aston Villa) Paulinho (Livorno) Nacho Scocco (Al Ain) Reto Ziegler (Juventus) John Guidetti (Manchester City) Josuha Guilavogui (Saint-Ãtienne) Morgan De Sanctis (Napoli) Luis Pedro Cavanda (Lazio) Joseph Alfred Duncan (Inter Milan) Alessandro Rosina (Siena) Jonathan Biabiany (Parma) Benjamin Mendy (Le Havre) Scott Parker (Tottenham) Johan Elmander (Galatassaray) Abel Hernandez (Palermo) Daniel Moberg Karlsson (IFK Göteborg) Remi Gomis (Valenciennes) Matej Vydra (Udinese) Mejdi Traoui (Espérance de Tunis) Jozy Altidore (AZ) Jermain Defoe (Tottenham) Vito Mannone (Arsenal) Jérémie Aliadière (Lorient) Jeroen Zoet (PSV) Ibrahima MBaye (Inter) Daniel Bessa (Inter) Gino Peruzzi (Vélez Sarsfield) Callum McManaman (Wigan) Tom Huddlestone (Tottenham) Kristoffer Nordfeldt (Heerenveen) Matt Ritchie (Bournemouth) Chung-yong Lee (Bolton) Robert Acquafresca (Bologna) Charis Mavrias (Panathinaikos) Emanuele Giaccherini (Juventus) Przemyslaw Tyton (PSV) Maxi Lopez (Catania) Innocent Emeghara (Lorient) Bastian Oczipka (Eintract Frankfurt) Christiano Biraghi (Inter) Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli) Aly Cissokho (Valencia) Luca Marrone (Juventus) Raul Meireles (Fenerbahce) Emil Hallfreðsson (Chievo) Frederik Sorensen (Bologna) That is 6 new names this week, taking our total to 68, with still a month to go until the beginning of the season. As Sunderland are seemingly fed up of waiting for Lucas Orban to make his mind up, we can be thankful that we look to be moving on as the strongest rumour this week is about Valencia left back Aly Cissokho. Cissokho gave an interview this week where he stated his desire to stay at the Spanish club, however that was quickly followed by reports that said Valencia's technical secretary, Braulio, had told Cissokho that he should leave the club. Valencia are currently undergoing financial difficulties and Super Deportes claimed that Sunderland were close to signing the French defender on a season long loan, with a view to a permanent deal. On the face of it, a loan deal may seem unlikely considering how cash strapped Valencia are but Lyon have a 40% sell-on clause which they are attempting to negotiate down and that is complicating matters as they look to move him on. The hardest part of the deal is likely to be convincing the player to join Di Canio's revolution, as he's thought to have doubts as he'd prefer a move to Liverpool. Lorenzo Insigne is a name that is sure to get people excited. A hot prospect who recently starred in the European u-21 Championship where he scored the winner against England, Insigne is a full Italian international who hasn't quite established himself in the Napoli side as yet. Although highly impressive during loan spells, Insigne found himself mainly used as a substitute for Napoli last season, which led to rumours that he may be seeking pastures new for first team starts. This week his agent admitted that Sunderland made 'an important offer' for the youngster but Napoli turned the offer down, stating that they don't want to sell quality players. His agent also said Insigne loves Napoli and wants to make himself an important player for the club but then said he hopes Napoli will give him a contract that reflects his importance. That last line is likely key to this rumour, Sunderland's name is probably being used in contract talks as a negotiating tactic. So while our interest may be genuine, don't expect Insigne to turn up at the Stadium of Light any time soon. Cissokho and Insigne are the headline rumours this week but the club have also been linked with two central defenders, Luca Marrone and Frederik Sorensen, as well as two central midfielders, Raul Meireles and Emil Hallfreðsson. With O'Shea, Brown, Diakite, Roberge and Cuellar at the club, as well as Egan and Laing, it seems unlikely that centre back will be a position we will look to further strengthen before the window shuts and while reinforcements will be made in midfield, Meireles and Hallfreðsson don't appear to be genuine targets. Meireles would be relatively expensive, is on a reported £48,000 per week and is on the wrong side of 30. Not to mention that rumour originated on SportsDirectNews. Hallfreðsson meanwhile is a 29-year-old journeyman utility player and it's hard to imagine we have any more than a passing interest, at best. Sticking with the midfield - where we can probably expect some changes with the futures of Alfred N'Diaye and Craig Gardner being the subject of speculation this week - Inter Milan's Zdravko Kuzmanovic has been linked. It may have substance given the Serbian was a player brought to the Nerazzurri during Valentino Angeloni's spell at the club but his agent recently said the is 'is certain' he won't be leaving this summer, so where that one stands is anyone's guess right now. One old target who definitely won't be joining Paolo Di Canio's revolution on Wearside, though, is Nacho Scocco. The Argentinian striker is on the verge of a move to Brazilian side Internacional. That's your lot for another week. Remember you can keep up with all the stories as they happen via our DEDICATED SUNDERLAND TRANSFER CENTRE. 
I remember PDC said he wants 5 strikers and 1 had to be a "young one like Wickham" Fletcher Altidore Ji/New one if he leaves Sessegnon Wickham So doesn't seem likely that CW will be off, unless it's just a short term 1 month loan or something to help his confidence
I think we should loan him out for the season, he's more than a young striker for me at the moment He's a young striker who is low on confidence and needs a run of games to get his career on track. He isn't going to leapfrog Fletch or Jozy in the pecking order so in the interest of our investment and for lads career then a season long loan would be the only option if I were PDC.
Just scored for Napoli at the Emirates. He looks very handy. Higuain not playing. Napoli linked with one or two other strikers so wonder if Paolo is keeping an eye on this lad. He is tiny btw!
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/220706-Insigne-deal-back-on I'll merge it and bring it back to life
Yeah I remember but it went quiet. Benitez said he likes him but he has money to spend and a Cavani sized hole to fill. BT Sport is coming up trumps already!
