Considering the media generated uncertainty over several of our players and the unsettling affect that can have on a squad, that's a pretty decent first half. We're trying to play football. Would like go see Austin getting a good 20-25 minutes to get a look at him.
Must say I haven't noticed this. Remember a good cross from BZ from the left, not much more. Barton, AJ, Ned and Hoillett (other than his finishing) have all done well. Ale has done some good stuff but gave it away a bit too often when they were 1 up.
We seem to have a decent 2nd Division team and most times I quite liked what I saw on the pitch. We do need to keep Barton (even though I do not like him) and replace Green / Traore but apart from that I was happy to see some good football again. Certainly I do not rate us to be favorites but likely to be within the top seats.
Its ok going forward but with Green in goal, 1 on target = 1 goal. His save % is awful, at least 50% of shots on target go in.
stand outs for me in first half were Barton and AJ, Faurlin had a few good tackles, BZ and Hoillett were wasteful on their chances. Onuoha took his goal well, right place at right time, although BZ still was behind him. Not to forget Hoillett did pass the all important 1st goal for us. All in all encouraging performance, just need some steel in defence and some clinical finishing in attack, but a fairly good opening 45mins in a nervous first game of season.
Jesus Flyer m8 surely you aint gonna blame green for that goal, blame the 4 players he ghosted past before unleashing a quality shot FF'S, lighten up geezer and start to see the positives m8 not always the negatives !!!
Phew, that could have been a 2nd yellow > red for Barton and a penalty. Slight contact but really an Mbia academy awards performance. Good job ref.
