I think that would seem very harsh. I've never come across any United fans laying into Nani like we, Arsenal or Man City do to Adebayor. Ade is one of a kind and we'd be very unlucky to get another mercenary like that in our squad again.
I wasn't arguing. Just merely debating. You seem the type where if someone disagrees with you, you'd prefer to move on. I was actually enjoying the chat, as I do with anyone with different opinions to my own, it's what's kept me on Not606 for so long (along with the banter and top notch Mods - yes, I'm kissing their arses here ). I was hoping to get down to the point of where you see Holtby in the next 12 months. You rate him highly so I was curious as to how you saw his future with us. Who would he replace in the starting XI if all were fit? If you don't want to continue it's fine, I'm just interested to see what others views are on matters that I disagree with so I can understand their theories. Most posters seem to agree with you about Holtby so the questions above can go to any of them too. I just feel that people are being a bit sentimental towards him more so than recognising what his actual worth to us is, the guy seems a real top bloke and a model professional but unfortunately I just don't see a future for him at the club due to the players we have in his positon(s). Admittedly he had a smaller time span to impress than others but that's the thing with January transfers, they're very hit and miss, just ask Torres and Andy Carroll .
I may be getting a little grumpy in the heat Felt like you were just getting pissed off at my argument haha.
We'd be very unlucky but then this is Spurs... We never get much good luck! I'd just be worried that if Nani couldn't perform for the best team in the country on a regular basis then would he be much better here? Having said that, maybe being a big fish at a club like he would be here if he joined is something he'd thrive on?
That's my theory. I think a new challenge will inject some energy into his game. I happen to believe that certain players feared SAF a great deal and this led them to either a) sulk, b) under-perform or c) play out of their skin Remember.... there's a lot of uncertainty at United now. More than there has been for over 20 years. If you want to prize a player away that might be thinking of leaving, now is the time!
Nah mate, I probably come across a bit sarcastic but it's all in good fun There's only one guy I think I, and many others have actually lost their rag at, I won't mention their name but they accused me at one point of knowing nothing about football because I said Pienaar was one of the worst signings the club had made in years. It's fair to say he (or she?) has a bit of a crush on Hugo Lloris too but that's as far as I'm going I'm sure Roo, Spurf, Notso and plenty of others will know who I mean!
Was a such a shame too, I was really excited at his signing, especially as we beat Chelsea to his signature. But he just couldn't reproduce that Everton form. It's like Voldermort, we just don't speak their name. Yeah not seen a comment from them ironically since Hugo finally became number one.
"We have reached agreement with Major League Soccer for the transfer of Clint Dempsey. #THFC" "The USA international returns to MLS after making 43 appearances and scoring 12 goals in our colours - http://bit.ly/13avUsX #THFC" Apparently 3 MLS sides have agreed a fee according to some on Twitter.
We've sold him to a league, somewhat bizarrely. The MLS have signed him. They do love a weird draft thingy over there, don't they?
A few people on twitter claim it's because three sides have had bids accepted and so now he gets to choose who he joins. Seattle Sounders were the ones he was reportedly off too initially.
