Talking of according to CL I assume some body has humbly apologised for the Wiggins gone before the start of the season nonsense?
Hamer Solly - Morrison - Dervite - Wiggins Pritchard - Hughes - Gower - Harriott Kermorgant - Sordell Subs: Pope, Wilson, Evina, Wood, Stephens, Green, Church
Uninspiring individuals but the balance is right for an away match. Pity we don't have Arter in there to spice it up.
Waggy scores for Bristol against Parky. Taylor is a sub. Lisbie scores for Orient. Michael Smith not in Wimbledon's 18.
We are getting outplayed with Arter controlling the midfield. Simon Francis given the freedom of the park to overlap by Harriott. If we are playing Harriott we need Jackson in there to help defend on the left. Reached HT without a shot on target but I am still confident we will get at least a point.
Sounds like we were pants generally. Upshot of players not being in place for the pre season....(I hope)
Outplayed by a team that will end not far off relegation. Not too surprised or disappointed because pre-season was a disorganized mess, rubbish opponents, no attempt to create a settled team and rely on teamwork to compensate for our deficiencies. (Even wrong sort of pitches. CP said his main preoccupation in Gibraltar was to get through the match without injuries because of the pitch). Lots of distractions chasing Coulibaly and Obika. Too much reliance on Kermorgant to be both creator and scorer. Get Pigott in there and let Sordell and Harriott share the other striker spot, with Kermit deeper in lieu of a schemer. I don't see Church ever being more than utility cover, and that's when he is fit, which he clearly isn't at present. At least CP made sensible substitutions today which put us in with a chance until the red card. He will sort it out, but selling Green and Stephens and re-investing in a CF would help a lot. Cheer up! We lost to worst teams than Bournemouth last season and still ended 9th. And Millwall lost at home to Yeovil!
Just had an e-mail from somewhere in Bournemouth that may just possibly be influenced by alcohol...these are some of the more coherent bits. Cleaned up and paraphrased in places. Even if Arter had been playing on his own in the middle of the park, he'd have outnumbered and outthought our entire midfield. How could we have ever thought this bloke wasn't good enough for us? If everybody in the side had played with Yann's commitment and skill, we'd have walked this one but he can't do it on his own. One of the best Charlton goals I've seen - just like the shot against Callie, only this one went in. If Sordell had shown any less enthusiasm, I'd have said he was asleep. Where was Joe Pigott, why wasn't he on the bench? What function does Mark Gower serve exactly? We had a good enough look at him last season to know that he was useless, so why sign him? Charlton support fantastic and deserved better than this. Four f*****g shots all game, disgraceful. Lovely place Bournemouth, full of friendly happy people enjoying the sunshine.
We lost Arter for the usual reason, a big squad full of experienced players ahead of him in the pecking order.But....... we mustn't lose Poyet for the same reason. It's just my opinion, but he's the most talented midfielder we have at the club. I'd have him as understudy to Andy Hughes, no question of clogging the place up with Gower, Stephens. I'm not sure where Jordan Cousins fits in- The Doctor heaped praise on him pre-season but he wasn't even on the bench today. Not to mention Hollands. A case of "Never mind the quality feel the width".
