Not liking the comments saying wrtitghty is jealous, hteh guy still lobes us, you can tell wiuth iunterviwes.
He's still a big Arsenal fan and goes to games, but he also has football shows that he needs to be nice and neutral for. Also i know his brother-in-law and the whole lot of them are fairly critical of Arsenal but are massive fans.
I usually agree with Wright and hate seeing fans disrespect him but I just can't comprehend what point he is trying to make here. For years he has been (rightly) critical of Arsenal's transfer policy and has been desperate for us to make big name signings. He even states as much in this interview where he believes we should get him. But then he advises Suarez not to go to Arsenal because we won't meet his ambitions? Slightly contradictory, don't you think. Won't making an ambitious signing like Suarez go some way to putting us up there with the big boys? I just don't understand why he would want Arsenal to make a big signing and then advise said big signing not to join. No doubt if Suarez doesn't join he will be asking why on earth we didn't get him. Like I said, I usually agree with him and the abuse he takes is ridiculous but in this particular scenario I can't make any sense out of it.
Wrighty is a sell out. Kissing a'rse so he could be seen as "raw" and intelligent. It's sad actually. Liverpool's legend and ex players are backing them to the hilt, even though they're a bunch of nobodies. He should be coming out and blasting those delusional fools, not side with 'em.
as a neutral, suarez should go to arsenal,? because if we judge the premier league history and current status, afc are always in the champs league, have won the prem league, got a bigger ground by far, more potential than lfc, lfc have a great history no doubt, but champs league is where its at, and lfc are a long way off, suarez could be retired by the time lfc get back in the top 4, once you are out its not easy to get back in. he should go to lfc, wrighty does not want to be seen as bias to afc
There seems to be a trend amongst ex-Arsenal players to negatively criticise the current team(s) and Wenger in particular -especially guilty over the last few years have been - Brian Marwood, Nigel Winterburn, Stewart Robson, Paul Merson, Charlie Nicholas and Sol Campbell. Or maybe its just the media twisting words again.
Not sure what people are expecting from Ian Wright. Like most footballers, he isn't the brightest and can come across a little crude. You wouldn't find his comments out of place in any boozer around the country when discussing football. He is entitled to his opinions like everyone else is, whether you agree with him or not.
The bloke down the pub isn't being paid a tidy sum or given a media platform to air his views though. I kind of expect a bit more from a pundit, but then the BBC employed Robbie Savage .....
