the rather obvious thing i there are no quotes and this is only a story due to confederation cup quites form the guy himself.... until he speaks this is all media invention. i'll wait and see.
interesting that there are only 2 pieces on this topic. If there was any truth whatsoever then they would all have been on it like a rash!
Tbh dave I've given up wondering whether or not there's any substance in the rumours. We'll know soon enough.
the thing that I find amusing is that the majority of us appear not to be too fussed if he goes to Madrid but hate even the outside chance that he may go to Arsenal.
for me its more to do with the fact that if he goes abroad, less chance of me throwing things at the tele if i see him in anything other than a Liverpool shirt, i will just think what a tosser, but at least he wont come back to really take the piss and hurt us in vital games and cost us points. cant afford to be buying a new tv each week.
We were pissed off when Torres went but at least he was a valuable player for us and he didn't cause us problems. If Suarez goes to Arsenal then the backlash from the fans will be something never seen before.
No transfer request no move. No smoke no fire. If he wants out he will put in a transfer request, if Madrid come in with a respectable bid Liverpool will let him go. The rest is made up by the media
The saving grace with torres was that he was **** by the time Chelsea got him, and it was a move up for him, not across like with Suarez and thus competing directly with us
have we not sold the f'r yet? only another what 30 days or so to get him shifted.... either that or get him fit.
I actually feel sorry for you lot - us Arsenal fans know the feeling of waiting to see if your top player is going to leave. Still potentially a month of backwards and forwards to go
Yeah. It was a terrible feeling. Obviously, it's far from guaranteed whether he joins Arsenal or not. But I remember how in denial we were when RVP was linked with Man U. In fact, a lot of us laughed it off. Never did we imagine he'd join those scum.
This is slightly different because it is mixed feelings amongst the Liverpool fans. Luis has put the club through so much **** that quite a few actually want to see him go. Obviously we have the others that don't want to see him go no matter what but then there are the ones inbetween too that think 'if he goes, he goes'. The only shared feeling amongst us is the preference that he doesn't join a rival such as Arsenal Edit: remember we have been through this before too
RVP put gooners through a lot with his terrible injury record. In fact, I'd say he was worse than Suarez in that sense. At least Suarez was able to string games together.
Im just so bored of it all now, keep changing my mind as to if he'll go or not he ****ing better not sulk around the pitch today if he comes on
Think thats the difference here, I think many of us Could see Suarez joining Arsenal; IF Real don't bid and if it was all down to him. What we want to see is the club saying no to Arsenal (and any other Prem team) as it could damage our league campaign. Hence why we would prefer Real, Barca, Bayern or anyone else on the continent. IF he were to go to Arsenal (and thats still a big if) I think they would find themselves in a similar situation to us now and the RVP last summer, a year on from now. Plus Arsenal are far from guaranteed CL football next season. The guy has no loyalty, no affiliations and always on the look out for the next thing. The only way I see him settled is playing (regularly) for Real who are guaranteed CL ever year (barring some absolute disaster).
There is a huge difference between Arsenal and United. Can't compare the moves of Luis and Robin. RvP left to win trophies. I do agree he was a ****** after all the support with his injuries, but then again RvP always played for himself. At least if you sign Suarez, there'll be no change in that regard #stillwaitingontransferrequest
Arsenal have had more regular CL football than any other club in europe - I'd say its been a pretty safe bet that Arsenal will be in the CL. I know nothing is guaranteed and obviously teams will be stronger this season but Arsenal are the ONLY team to have maintained constant CL football and constantly into the latter stages of the competition. As far as wanting to play in europe Arsenal are one of the best clubs a player could be at. Not going to get into an argument about the merit of playing in the cup vs the chance of winning it etc... But i agree Suarez comes across as the type who will never be happy and always looking for his next move - careers are short so can't blame him - as long as Arsenal know what they are getting when they buy him i don't have an issue with that.
