I think the problem is that Chelsea fans are a bit over sensitive when people criticise their history. The whole "Chelsea FC, you ain't go no history" chants really seem to bother them. I think some of them struggle to accept that before Roman came along there was nothing to distinguish their club from pretty much every other club in the PL.
Agreed. I know you only quoted part of my post - but on the large would you agree with me on the so called 'History debate'..?? I really don't get it, maybe jealousy? **** know's, just seems odd.
Chelsea fans either don't want to talk about history or try and fabricate one as they have a chip on their shoulders about the whole issue. Clubs like Liverpool, United and Arsenal built an identity and their successes, Chelsea bought theirs. They prattle on about plastics and glory hunters but the reality is without their johnny come lately, glory hunting fan base they'd still be playing pre-season games against Reading and home matches in front of 10,000 empty seats. You only have to look at how desperate they are to be considered a big club and how attention seeking some of their fans are (check out the Premier League board which is effectively the Chelsea Attention Seeking board) to see that they suffer from a massive inferiority complex.
Some Chelsea fans may get upset, but I see it for what it is.......it is anything, absolutely anything, that rival fans can get their hands on to try diss us, purely because our presence among Europes elites was not expected or wanted or, and lets face it, earnt. Up until 3 years ago (our last title win) I wouldnt have said Chelsea were a big club historically on a European scale no. Now we are. The you have no history was started by Liverpool fans because we were where they wanted to be. WE were Uniteds title rival, not them. WE were winning league titles, not them. And it pissed them off. Funny how some Utd fans have also started to adopt it. Out of curiousity, when do recent trophies become history, is our 2005 title win history now or is that still too recent or in 50 years time will we still have no history, despite the trophies we are winning now? Just want to know the rules
Don't want Rooney at the club, and would like to see him get sold abroad. Have never forgiven him for the 2010 incident when he questioned the the ambition and ability of the club, the manager and his team-mates. He was dropped for the Madrid game because of his form, came on and fluffed 2 golden opportunities which proved Ferguson was correct. Instead of knuckling down and working hard, he chose to stroll his way through the rest of the season looking like he couldn't give a ****. His performer against West Ham exemplified everything. Touch was awful, passing was terrible and his work-rate was non existent. He was rightfully taken off, and has been "angry and confused" ever since. Prick. Back in 2010 he called for big ambitious signings. He got them with van Persie and Kagawa. Or is Rooney immune from first team competition? Should we only strengthen areas he doesn't play in just incase it upsets him? He's nothing but trouble, are we going to put up with him ****ting on the club every couple of years when he wants a new contract? No thanks. I'd rather see Kagawa given the # 10 role. He looks a yard sharper in mind and body, Rooneys longevity is shot to **** anyway. I'd be gutted if he stays and breaks Charltons goal scoring record. He'll NEVER be held up in the same regard as Bobby, Best and Law etc because of the lack of respect he's shown the club. Sell the ****.
I agree with your argument about history - it's just something for the fans to be proud of and look back on. Problem is that it's also used as a stick to beat other fans with. Chelsea laugh at Liverpool for not having won the league for a couple of decades, Liverpool reply by laughing at Chelsea for having no 'history', etc etc. It stops being about pride and starts being about getting one over on another club. You may be right that some Chelsea fans are jealous of Liverpool's trophy haul and history, but it's equally fair to say that there are a lot of Liverpool fans who are jealous of Chelsea's superior success in recent years, and their willingness to brag about it. I agree, with the proviso that we have replaced him first. Fabregas, Mata, Modric, Bale or, dare I say it, Ronaldo would be improvements. But ultimately even a half arsed, half fit and unhappy Rooney is still better than a lot of what's out there at the moment.
The truth hurts They are like the youngest out of 7 brothers aren't they. As soon as their balls eventually dropped and they grew a hairlip they haven't shut up about it
Of course you can, you can talk about winning the next 9 PLs and 5 CLs but predictions are what they are, look up HIAG
Liverpool fans still believe they have a good team. Somehow the fact they are dire completely escapes them.
But we can still, without grand delusion, hope to win another in the next 7 years, unlike Sisu's team, thats my point
in 7 years, I am not thinking that far ahead. Given only 10 or so years ago your club nearly ceased to exist, then you added 3 PLs, see what I mean Kind of makes your comments appear to be what they are, bottom dribbles
