As a glory hunting Liverpool fan (I guess I was in the 80's)... I grudgingly hope we keep his sorry ass.

I'd like to have one single "mindless insult" named and thrown back in my face, but then I'm a blind Hamilton fanboy so I must not be able to control my actions.

 

ok i think Hamilton is the best driver and it must certainly be playing on the minds of those who doubted the potential for success surrounding his move to Mercedes, he has certainly proved them wrong on that front.

His performances have also proven that he is again superior to his new teammate despite having far less time behind the wheel of a Mercedes car, again tribute to his undeniable talent behind the wheel of a formula 1 specification machine.

I look forward to seeing how he will continue to develop the car and hopefully provide more examples of his driving prowess and most likely contribute to an exciting competition for the drivers and possibly manufacturers championship.

No... Hamilton is far from being the best driver on the grid right now. The out and out best on the track is Vettel who gets the job done week after week, even when you think he's struggling he pulls it out of nowhere. His focus and skill is the class of the field right now. It's clearly rattled Alonso and Hamilton in the past and present, who have perhaps spent more time looking to Vettel's situation than focusing on their own... and to their own determent. The only driver not vexxed by Vettel at the top right now is Kimi.

Speaking of Hamilton specifically... He's been guilty of some big screw-ups and had some howling seasons but is slowly maturing in to a top driver. After a big-bang entry to F1 and arguably letting other things get the better of him, he's left McLaren against the advice of many and is now charting his own path. Though he and Rosberg are performing similarly to this point in the season, I would expect Hamilton to get the better of Rosberg once he fully settles in to the car and the team.. But only time will tell on that and maybe Rosberg will be the man for Merc. You'd think they'd prefer a German star if it's possible.
