That's a good way of looking at it I guess. I think what we need to do is make sure we buy like for like. For instance - Lose Torres - buy Aguerro - Lose Aguerro - buy Falcao - like Athletico. Of course getting in some other big big talents would soften the blow. We just need to make up the 25 goals he scored last year....well Ade is likely to get at least 10 as he can't have a worse season. Soldado should get at least 15 so there is the 25 goals. Get some more creativity, names for the future, and CB cover and we are good to go.
I believe we're called a selling club, as we're club which can't challenge for the title or champions league, but has ambitions to get to this stage and will at times slowly build a squad which looks to be nearing their ambitions but as soon as a bigger club comes along and flexes their muscles, our star players view the grass as greener and decide they have to leave to fulfil their ambitions as we can't offer them what they want and in the end we have no choice but to sell. Of course there are other ways of defining a selling club, as teams in the bottom half etc will always lose their players, but in terms of ourselves thats why we get labelled as a selling club.
Selling or trading club? All new signings should have a £100M buy out clause in their contracts, if anyone wants them they have no pay. If a player wants to move, he would have to find a club willing to pay or honour (see out) his full contract. We could always reduce the price if we wanted to get shot of them.
I don't know how I got them though. I was probably nice to pool. I certainly haven't said much of worth
Hooper has 2 against Braga, not the best team but certainly no pushovers, in 30minutes on his debut. Really think we will regret missing out on him at £5m (and Bony at £8m but Ill try and stop going on about him ) On the + side had money on Norwich so I'll let him off this time.
Thanks Roo but don't worry about it. As far as I can see rep is pointless anyway. And if people like Piskie can amass the amount he has considering the amount of Wumming her does, then I'm not really bothered about it. Like Spurm says we all know the good posters from the bad. Cant say I've ever looked at yours, spurms, spurfs, tots, WY, YV's reps but I always read your comments knowing there'll be some good points. Although I don't like the red bar under my achievements considering it makes me think of Arsenal everytime I see it
Sorry to fire out 3 posts in a row but quick question. What sites do you guys check for Spurs news / solid rumours? I visit here, OS, Sky and BBC as they all usually have some substance behind them even if Sky can occasional stretch the truth. Basically asking what other Spurs-ey websites do you check daily?
If you really care about rep then you are quite sad. I imagine Piskie sitting there ****ing over all his rep and believing in his own self importance and how he must be this footballing God of knowledge due to his massive rep on a football forum. Anyway don't mean to sound like a broken record but we can't turn down £100 million for one player. We need to think of the bigger picture here and for the long term future of the club not just very short term success. I still feel we wouldn't be a lot weaker without Bale as we could become a better overall team.
I check the same sites as you TJ. To be honest I use Roo to get all the latest gossip. He is our link to ITK (supposedly!)
Same! Roo and Spurcat lol. Saw Carlton Cole is training with us.... How amazing would it be if we signed him and he turned into the player he always showed he could be and became the English Drogba and banged in 30 goals. I'm gunna go lie down...
Yeah or maybe not! Ha ha! I am totally with you on the Bale thing. Of course I want him to stay but this is ludicrous money now for one player and I think it would be stupid of Levy to turn it down never mind the promise he may have made. And we know Levy isn't stupid and is a businessman so he won't.
when I saw that!, but no, its seems right, i just hope to god we are just doing him a favour. http://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/carlton-cole-training-spurs/
To be honest I have so much faith in AVB and Baldini that if they for whatever reason signed him I'd be more intrigued than worried.
To be honest I reckon it would make sense if we sold Adebayor - we need a player who's not going to get miffed about lack of game time but happy to put in a shift when required from injuries/ in easy cup games. Newcastle have a player like this in Ameobi and I think it's useful. We could do worse than Cole as a third choice if we're only playing 1 up front.
I take it you've not seen much of Carlton Cole lately! if them 2 sign a player that Andy Carroll and Ricardo Vaz Te were keeping out of the side, worried wouldn't begin to describe my feelings.
By the way wasn't Soldado's medical meant to be today? Not heard anything about it and getting worried :[
