    Hey guys,

If any of you are on sky or want sky I have just got an amazing deal from them.

My special offer expired which was £24 a month and this included sky sports, movies, documentaries, entertainment pack and kids pack in HD.

It went up to £56 a month so I called them to leave and said
I was switching to BT sport.

The guy on the phone was desperate to keep the custom and offered me the same package fixed for 6 months for only the cost of the HD £10 a month!!

This includes everything I had before, sports and everything!

    Excellent deal.

If you get the deal I just got that would save you £420 over 6 months. Beers are on you! Call them now!

A lot of people do this, and seeing as SKY increased my bill and I've been meaning to phone them up to ''cancel'' it. Will give them a ring tomorrow.

BT have dipped their toes in the water and have been really aggressive trying to get people to sign up. BT have more than enough financial muscle to challenge Sky long term and I reckon there's more than a few arses nipping at Sky. I have to say that I was well impressed with BT's launch night yesterday, I'm just hoping it lives up to the hype and that Sky have some real competition at long last <ok>

P.S. As a BT Broadband customer I now have BTSport1 HD, BTSport2 HD, ESPN HD, Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 for nowt.

Got my BTSport 1, 2 and ESPN fine but are you sure you get the Eurosport channels as part of being a BT Broadband customer? They say they are still subscription based with sky when I click on them!

Ah, I think you are right because I did opt to pay a £7 monthly subscription for extra channels i.e. Gold, Discovery, Comedy Central, Universal, Fox, Alibi, Crime etc etc. Eurosport channels must be included in my extras
For just £84 per year though, I thought that was good value too <ok>

Are you saying you are getting all the sports channels for £10 a month for 6 months?

I read it as you were paying £10 per month on top of your existing deal, but which was still less than the usual Sky Sports package.

    Nope!

Its £10 a month. They are only charging me for HD nothing else, which is £10!

I will still get all sports and my current package, I cant believe it but it is true he confirmed it many times.

You wouldn't get that as a new customer, fair play to you though that is a cracking deal. I can't see Sky agreeing to the same deal for you after the six months TBH

That's great news. Didn't have a TV for a number of years as I used iplayer and other web based catch up providers but I told the missus that I wanted to watch the Olympics last year without internet issues so she relented and let me get a new TV (she got a netbook out of the deal!)

Trouble was the aerial on my house was broken. It worked out cheaper to get a sky dish rather than replace the aerial so I got the minimum package at £21 a month for a minimum of 12 months (plus I got a £100 Marks and Spencers voucher!) with the knowledge that I would cancel the subscription after a year.

After cancelling I'd still be able to watch the terrestrial channels and some satellite freebies. Perhaps now I can wangle a deal like the one you've got for the next six months.

Im now in the playing hardball stage with them, we had the whole package for £26 a month for the last 2 years, it was expiring so rang to extend it but they said because we have had it for 2 years that they couldn't couldn'tbest they could offer was 25% off. So we have cancelled, now just waiting for the phone call callto ask if there is anything they can do.

Anybody that is on the full package paying full price, i urge you to cancel, they will cave in.

A nervous time here in Vietnam, because you never know what will happen at the start of a season and how much football there will be on TV. Even more uncertainty this time because of this. I guess about 50% of the games were televised last season. Otherwise it's dodgy streaming with a fairly dodgy internet connection. :(

We have sky tv that now costs us £10 a month and talk talk broadband and phone, the phone has some international packages attached to it. But the bill for the phone and broadband is around £35 per month, so £45 for everything.

Even when I was paying £24 for sky it still only came to £59 per month including talk talk.

If I were you you I would tell sky that to stay with them they would have to half the amount your paying or you will switch to talk talk and BT Sport.
