I'd like to see Ade stay and get 20 odd goals, if he gets in the right frame of mind fantastic. However, if Levy can wangle Alvaro Morata in part ex for Bale then I don't think we would need Ade. The young kid isn't that quick but he has the first touch of a Dimi Berbatov and knows exactly where the goal is. I doubt for one second the RM will part with him but who knows? If anyone can, Levy can.
Ade is a quality player and they are very difficult to get as we know. I would hope he stays we need all the quality we can muster. Young striker to learn? we've already got them haven't we. Anyway most of what top strikers posess they are born with IMO. They can hone it for sure but if you don't have it you can't learn it.
In my view, he's a lazy, piss-taking twat, who should have been told to either pull his finger out, or **** off, some time ago.
He really does divide opinion on here. I just hope he can play like the first season. Everyone deserves a second chance and if he does hit form then we won't find better. I hope we do keep him and a lot of you are eating your words.
I have the solution... sell him to another club and then get him back on loan on some half arsed shoddy deal. He seems to perform under the cloud of no contract!
I'd like Levy to ask him :- "Do you want to play for us or not? Will you be trying for us this season or just lining up at the bank every payday and passing out on matchdays?" If it's all in the negative..bye, bye!
Adebayor doesn't have the mentality to fight for a place in the side. With Soldado, he knows he's going to play second fiddle and therefore won't be arsed to perform when called upon. A shame as the Ade of two seasons ago is up there with the best but I'm pretty confident in saying we won't see that Ade again. And on that notice, good riddance Ade. Thanks for the 2011/2012 campaign but see ya later.
Bye bye ade. He's proved himself to be a mercenary. Does this at every club. Get rid of him and his grossly overinflated wages
it was the way he went about it. he sprinted all the way over to him without celebrating with the players on the pitch first. He then climbed into the 2nd or 3rd row of substitute's seats. it was a lot of effort for what it was. Apparently that week, 1 or both ( I can't remember) players had fallen out with the managerial staff IIRC. The way I see it is simple. We want a top 4 finish. He scored about 4 goals last season and looked like he wasn't interested. that isn't good enough for someone who's on roughly 100kp/w.
You are all incredibly hard on Ade and perhaps you right. I just thought he had a really messed up season. Man c delayed agreement meaning he missed pre=season, sent off at Arsenal when he was mainly guilty of being over excited. Injury and then time on the bench as Defoe was playing a blinder. At the end of the season he finally found some form and game time and did some very good work holding up the ball. His style is languid and I remember the same 'lazy' charges being levelled at Berbatov. I just don't believe it's neccessary to be running around like a sprinter just to prove that you are commited. Having said all that he was woefully off form and lacking in confidence in front of goal but that happens to most strikers. As I said before he has the quality it's up to the manager to bring that out. Unless we find a higher quality player I would keep him at least until the Jan window and see what happens.
Berbatov had a magnificent touch though spurf and most fans with half a brain could see that it was his style. -Where he didn't have pace, he made up in other departments. Ade's first touch was woeful most of the time last season and he didn't have anything else that was positive in his locker to balance that out.
Are you suggesting that some of our members only have half a brain! Surely not. Sure I would rather have Berbatov than Ade, so let's get him. My point is that we should not offload players in the first team squad unless we are replacing with better.
I don't think people were used to seeing a player like Berbatov. I remember being part of that club, thinking he was Lazy to start off with, but then I realised it was his style and accepted it. -Others couldn't seem to do that. he was scoring goals and assisting Keane left, right and centre. Someone who's not interested or lazy wouldn't do that. But I agree, the replacements need bringing in. However, In Ade's case with his wages being so complicated, he might have to be one that we let go before we get someone else in.
Like Spurf, i still think we should keep, and i was harsher than most on this site towards him last season. At the end of the day, its not our personal money and if the club can afford to keep him we should. Its worth it on the chance he plays like season before last. If he does he is competition for Soldado AND a very useful rotation/sub option. £5m saving in wages vs possible crucial goals.
Its taken us like 5 years to find NEW STRIKER and now you wanna try and do it again in a month? Maybe...
What was all that Fannying around in Africa, when he was Suppoesd to be at the club, and they had to send a plane out to get him back?
