I heard that some posters on the Cardiff City Forum thought that Bony was "crap" last night. http://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=119117&sid=3b61b697756a09bd41bab4ba21f92e91 That set me thinking, how many Cardiff City players would get into a combined Swansea/Cardiff team?
Vorm/Tiendalli Rangel/Jazz Ash/Caulker/Monk Chico/Amat Ben/Neil Leon/Jonjo Canas/ Ki/JDG Routs/Dyer Pablo/Lamah Michu/Pozeulo Bony/Other/Donnelly Other than Caulker, can't see any of that lot getting in our 24 man squad let alone matchday squad
Here is my Swansea/Cardiff XI Vorm Angel - Williams - Chico - Davies Britton - Shelvey Hernandez - Michu - Routledge Bony Subs: Tremmel Amat Taylor Canas Pozuelo Ki JDG Lamah Oh wait, damn it!!!! That is too many subs allowed! Our team is too good for me to choose! But seriously, no Cardiff players would make our bench except maybe Caulker and even then Amat looks at least equal to him. Let's not forget that last season we dominated against Premier League teams just as we had against Malmo, our friends up the road will get to see this for themselves as they will notice we will be getting alot more minutes on Sky Sports and Match of the Day which all superior teams deserve.
Going trough the Bony is crap thread! They seem seriously bitter! 1game, 2 goals, 1 assist he keeping his goal/game ratio on the + side!
We have only conceded one goal in how many games .... any comparison between the squads is a bit pointless at the moment. If Cardiff are the new Stoke then none of them would match up with our style of play, except perhaps Caulker and he would really have to be on the boil to make the bench. I just don't know anything about the rest of the Cardiff squad to make a comment .... and that there is the thing - we don't know .... and neither do they.
Its just like asking "How many turds would you put in a box of Thorntons?" The answer will be the same. None.
I am currently engaed in a thread over there now, they really are bitter about how much better we are, even saying that our League Cup win is worthless because nobody cares about that competition. It didn't seem that way when they lost in the final mind you. Also they said the FA Cup was only the prestige domestic cup but when I reminded them it was the only one a biog team chose not to take part in then suddenly the prestigious FA Cup had been weakened over the years. They really cannot handle the fact that Swansea is much bigger and much better supported club than theirs. They change their minds in minutes if suits their aim, I am not convinced they know anything about football or even their own club for that matter as their opinions shift from one day to the next and when we call them out on something they resort to personal insults such as calling me a plastic fan simply because I made one of them look a fool an hour ago.
I know he's getting on but I'd definitely have Bellamy in my squad. The guy has vast experience and his never-say-die attitude is a total plus which rubs off on the rest of the players. Used sparingly, which we could afford to do given the depth of our squad, he'd be a quality player for us. Nobody would be slacking when he was on the pitch that's for sure. In a "now" situation, that is forgetting future potential and age etc., I'd take him before Caulker. The only other player I'd consider would be Cornelius. I mentioned this guy long before Cardiff signed him because I think he will do well in the right team. Whether that is Cardiff remains to be seen. As for the rest, no thanks, they can keep the lot of them.
Bellamy is most effective on the wing, however he is slower than our guys, doesn't run as much as our guys, can't pass like our guys, and doesn't have the reactions to do the triangles like our guys. His stamina is also diminished, a young Bellamy would be in the team but the guy is ageing and it'll show more in the Prem than it did last season the Championship where he missed a few games. He does shout a lot though, unfortunately that shouting is usually at the referee. The only thing he has over our guys is a knack for goals but all the things that he doesn't have means the team performs better as a unit with Dyer, Routledge and Hernandez.
Bellamy would be in my squad too, his do or die attitude is what teams need, and he may be ageing, but he still has some pace, that will put many his junior to shame, you cannot fault Bellamy's commitment!.................
I'd have Caulker (to replace Monk) and Cornelius on the bench. Bellamy could have Lamah's place in the squad for a season. .....possibly Brayford over Jazz in the squad (we don't know for sure if Brayford can cut it at this level yet, Jazz has more potential). That's it folks. No Cardiff player would make our first XI...although I'm sure they'll make another good signing or two before the window shuts, ask me then.
I cant see any cardiff players good enough tbh, maybe cornelius could make the bench if we are really desperate, Bellers a couple of seasons ago maybe but not now, He is good enough for cardiff but for a top half team like us then we have better...
Chaulker yes but other than him None and that includes bellamy. we've got younger hungrier players in all positions who fit our style. They're creating another Stoke like side , whoosh
