It's not clear yet but it looks like Coventry City Football Club Ltd (the limited company to be liquidated) does not own the 'golden share'. So yes, I think they will be.
Having a read of their forum and I'm even more confused. It's not clear to me who owns the ground, but it sounds like their Council have an input and it was the Council's vote that ultimately liquidated them.
Such a shame for the supporters. I remember going to a game at Highfield Road back in the day. This may sound extreme but a lot of the clubs getting into trouble don't own their ground. Maybe the Football League and Premier League need to look at making sure clubs either own their grounds or have say at least a 25% stake in the ground in which they play rather than a rental agreement. It may put pressure on the clubs and landlords but in the long run it has to be a good thing.
So long as the football league give them permission to play, they should be able to play the entire season. The players and their contracts are owned by a different company not in liquidation, I didn't quite get what's being said about that, but it sounded like the football league also needs to give permission for that company to keep running the club and to let the players owned by that company play. I didn't hear all of it clearly from all the background noise at wok, OLM was listening in perhaps he can shed a bit if light on it...
The stadium is part owned by the council and part owned by the Alan Edward Higgs Charity(a charity set up by a rich bloke from Coventry).
Would it be possible, much like tiger city says, to force clubs to own at least part of their ground, but make that ownership bee under the actual limited company that IS the football club, and make it protected so it can't leave the clubs hands or have loans secured against it etc.

Werent Maidstone the last league club to go bust? It was mid-season from memory and I'm pretty sure all their points won and lost were scrapped so it effected the entire league table. I might be wrong.
They had to drop seven leagues to the Kent County League, they're now back up to the Isthmian League Premier Division and have just got their own stadium(I say stadium, it's got one stand with 442 seats in it).

Every time I hear of Maidstone – I think of that. I think I saw it on YTV’s Goals On Sunday who showed it, despite them being alien t our region, as a bit of football fun along the lines of a crazy foreigner celebrating a goal in an unusual way or that really long Welsh club name playing in the Welsh FA Cup
