I think that's highly presumptuous of you to say that anybody who doesn't share your opinion is wrong!

Bale is a unique, irreplaceable talent. Why do you think that Real are prepared to go to such lengths to sign him? They recognise what they're getting - a player that does things few, if any, other player in the world can do. A player who wins you games, you would otherwise lose, by his own supreme talent.

That is what I'm so reluctant to give up. I accept that if he insists on going, we should cash in. However, if there is any way he can be persuaded to stay, no matter what real's bid may be, we should do so.

I see Van der Bale is viewing this. Just like to say, the exodus is all your fault. Couldn't you have chosen Naughton Livermore for your user name <grr>

But we need to cut the squad back a bit anyway. I want to see Carroll, Holtby and Sigurdsson as our back up and starting more games. Do we really need to replace Huddlestone if he goes? We have signed Paulinho plus Sandro will be fit again.
I agree we need to replace Caulker but hopefully the Chiriches (sp?) deal can be resurrected.
Erikssen is a player I know you like and I would love us to get if Bale goes and I think if its worth over paying on any player it would be him to complete our squad.

How long do you think it will be before the club / Bale makes some form of statement? All these non quote articles are doing my head in, and on top of that everyone a work keeps telling 'the latest' as is its fact.<grr>

OK NSIS fair point I should have worded that better but £105 million for one player is ludicrous. We are not Chelsea or City and he will highly likely leave next year if not this year. We cannot as a club or business turn that kind of money down. I am all for short term success but also recognise the importance of sustainability and funding the new stadium. I am desperate to get the new stadium so I can see Spurs more as tickets are so hold to get hold of these days for any of the big matches particularly.
Do you honestly think, if that was the actual offer £105 million plus a player, we shouldn't accept?

    Adam Suter:

RM still havent shown us proof of funds. Nothing has changed, all talk. We've got a specific demand for bale, which they have to meet, or he stays.

    also from him:

    Eriksen could well sign.

Was it you Roo who was saying earlier we should drop Suter as he was getting everything wrong?

    exactly that! great answer! <laugh>

    No, pinch of salt Spurm.

He's been spot on about certain things and wrong about other stuff. But it's hard to write him off, because the stuff he's got right has been very right, and days before any other media source. The stuff he's got wrong, like villa, was not actually the guy's fault. Villa had a change of heart over night.
There's other "ITK's" that are muppets, but to be fair to Suter, he doesn't fall into that category, IMO. He seems like a genuine fan who just passes on what he's told.

Suter is adamant that Paulinho will wear the No8 shirt. he's been banging on about that for ages. So it'll be interesting to see whether that's true. The squad numbers haven't been announced and he claimed this weeks ago. You must be getting some decent ITK info to say something like that, surely?. - With all the ridiculous squad numbers there are these days, it's not like you can just guess a number and get it right, is it?

    so yeah, pinch of salt.

However.... saying Eriksen was a bad idea, Suter. my hopes are well and truly up.

If Bale did go and we were to bring in Eriksen, Coentrao and Chiriches (along with Paulinho, Chadli and Soldado) would you all see that as a good transfer window?

Hmmmm, tough call. If you took out Eriksen i would give it a resounding NO.
To sell Bale and only bring in 2 (Eriksen and Coentrao, others were already done and Chiriches replaces Caulker) is a tad disappointing and suggests the money is being pocketed.

On the 1 hand, Eriksen would solve a massive creativity issue, but he can't replace the other elements of Bale's game, such as the "speedy winger part"

So, IMO, we'd need another quality winger, especially as there's uncertainty over Townsend.

it would only leave lennon and Chadli, which would put us in the same position as last season in terms of numbers for that position.

Darren Lewis in the mirror thinks we could be in for the following if Bale goes:

Remy, Eriksen, Pjanic, Lamela and Pastore

Eriksen would be my first choice. I must admit I dont know a lot about Pjanic, Lamela and Pastore. Who would you choose if those players were available for us?

Never seen Pjanic and Lamela but Baldy must know them fairly well as they are at Roma. Young.
Pastore is more experienced but still not old. Might be tough to prise him away from PSG
