Way too much Strongbow last night I was pretty hammered ha ha I meant to write Martinez not Benitez ha ha The rest Is about right tho lol Lesson learned.....Don't try to take the piss and be clever when you can't even see the laptop properly
1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez? He faces a very new and different challenge with Everton. Previously he has been involved with clubs that were perceived to be struggling and he has managed to improve them - there is a great deal of difference between improving a side and making them successful. Moyes has managed to make Everton a successful club in terms of premiership longevity and position whilst struggling with a chronic lack of money. Therefore the expectations upon Martinez are that he will somehow take Everton to another level. I just don't see that happening with the level of resources that he will have at hand. The style of play may/will change but I believe that Martinez will find it very difficult and I doubt that he will be given the time that Moyes 'enjoyed' to make it happen. 2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu) Really can't comment because I don't know enough about any of them to make an informed comment. But they do know the manager and they have played together therefore you would hope that there was some kind of bonding between them. I suppose it depends if they are accepted by the rest of the Everton squad. 3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why? Of Course - what a silly question! Seriously, we did start to look some thing like a good side towards the end of last season. Rodgers is looking to improve the squad in all areas but we will have to see how quickly the newcomers settle. On top of that there is a strategic imperative that we get back to at least some form of European football next season. 4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season? Bottom 3! Nah just joking. I don't know. Normally you're a mardy lot and start off like you want to be relegated only to coe with a very strong run later in the season. But with the changes at the top and in the team maybe you should aim for mid-table security. Sounds boring when said like that but if you can manage that this season everybody will have bedded-in for next season. But what do I know, you contrary ****ers are likely to go all out to win the Prem!!! 5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club? If there is truly a Sleeping Giant in the Premiership then it has to be Everton. Loyal following, proud tradition, known all over the world. You just haven't got any money. Somebody has to give your board a real good kicking to get the investment in. It's simple - no money you go backwards (no matter who manages you).
