Do you think Guzan will get a chance at no 1 now? If so we are going to have to look somewhere else for a keeper, even tho id rather have it that way anyway.
villa will replace friedel. would imagine they'll look at westwood actually. 99% certain guzan has no future there. if we really want guzan i'm sure we'd have little problem getting him.
Guzan will not be villa's number one next season. Not a bad catch for spurs for the moment. Don't know how long he's got left in him though.
Ah, fair enough. At most they'll get one more year after that if they can't find a replacement. They're surely not keeping gomes and cudicini? One of them must go, most likely Gomes as he has a taste of first team football now.
Friedel, Gomes, Cudicini. My guess is the one that's left as number 3 will be going. Friedel left for nothing and we're hoping to get Guzan on a free transfer (even though he's still contracted until 2013). I'm not sure they'd want to lose 2 keepers for £0.00. We'd all obviously prefer Mannone to Guzan. Arsenal's 5th choice keeper got called up to Argentina's senior squad today, so it shows their strength in the goalkeeping department even though everyone says the Gooners need a new one. Wether Mannone has a future there or not I'm not sure
The gooners do need a new keeper if they don't get a good centre back. Samba could be the answer, but yes they do have some great, young keepers. Even though it points to Cudicini being third choice i believe Gomes will be the one to go. You make a good point about Villa not wanting to let a keeper go for free, but what choice do they have? Let's hope we do get Mannone on a permanent, not a bad keeper.
Cudicini's contract ran out this summer and he's just signed an extension a week or so ago so I would expect it to be Gomes going.
