Not us grasping at anything, the article is totally independent, of course there are counter arguments based on allegiances, but it is there in black and white by someone with no connection to Cardiff.
The only real way to settle this is to extend both our stadia to 60,000 capacity and see who gets the most. My money 's on Swansea. Another way would be just to ask :- In our clubs' recent trips to Wembley who took the most ? 43,500 reasons to say Swansea yet again.
I think you need to read the article concerned and the criteria used to form a basis for it's findings. As it stands historically, Cardiff City is the biggest Welsh football club.

Is this really that important? I personally do not take much notice to these blogs, I am more interested in the next few weeks. Football is starting again. Swans in Europe, Cardiff in Premier League. World will see the South Derby. Good times.
Compare our attendances the season you went up. Both at the same level , neither sold out every week. If I remember right our average was about 7,000 more than yours. Swansea have no need to be jealous of our fan base. They should compare themselves with Wigan.
Well said Hilts Any idiot however bias they are would admit that our fanbase is by far bigger than that of the Swans, and as for trips to Wembley, every time we have been there we have sold out, so cant see that arguement at all.
I'm gonna get shouted down on this - but the fact that winning th eleague cup is offered the same value as a single season in the championship suggests that the point system is flawed. That and the fact that you get more points for being a runner up in the FA cup than you do for winning the league cup seems bizarre.
People remember cup winners, not Championship participants. League Cup champions should have more weight than competing in the 2nd tier league.
As for sales of Wembley tickets, you can only sell the number you are allocated. Now who did we play - Liverpool and who did Swansea play - Bradford. I would guess that Liverpool took all of their allocation, not surprising with average home gates well over 40k. Bradford's average home gate is what, 10 to 12k so their Wembley allocation was likely to be less than the Swans even though the Swans home average is, say, 20k. As a result it was inevitable the Swans would have a larger allocation as The Football League would want to sell out the stadium for a final. There are lies, damned lies and statistics!!!
Same old pissing contest on the boards these days. Grow the **** up. As with many things in life bigger isn't always better I have no problem if Cardiff are ten times bigger than Swansea. The here and now is what matters to most fans. I'm sure Leeds fans would trade their history to be currently back in the top flight. A huge club that has struggled to get back up where many say they belong (and like most, I actually dislike Leeds). We have a much better team than Cardiff and will prove it this coming season. THAT'S what counts. Anything else is irrelevant.

'Most' Premier league clubs use the Carling cup to give their fringe players (reserve team) a competitive game, even most Championship teams change four or more players from their regular teams, so yes..... winning the league cup is worthless unless you support the winning team - and that means it's unimportant to us as well unless we're in the final. As for the F.A. cup it's a prestigious trophy in which the very best teams will be picked by every team outside the top four in the prem so points in that competition (FA fkn Cuppp) will be much harder to accumulate
Didn't see Chelsea put out a weakened team. Nor did Arsenal or Villa against Bradford. Fringe players get used in the earlier rounds, just like they do in the FA cup, or is that no longer an important cup cos "most in the premier league use the FA Cup to give their fringe players (reserve team) a competitive game" The league cup is only important if your in it to win it, if your out, then its no longer an important cup, especially if its your rivals in with a chance of winning it, just like some swans fans made it look a tin pot cup when you were in the final, just like some of yours did when we won it, but when on the other foot, in both instances those few saying it was a tinpot cup, thought it was the bee's knee's. If it wasn't important in the later stages then you wouldn't sell out at Wembley, so of course its important.
Really? If the FA Cup is so prestigious then why is it the only cup where a team deliberately chose not to enter? I seem remember Manchester United choosing to take place in the League Cup that very same year. I have also yet to see a single team field a weakened side in the final apart from Swansea, thats right, it is Swansea who are the only team to field a weakened side for the final when Laudrup said at the Quarter Final stage that even in the event of reaching Wembley he would stick with those who deserved to qualify us there.
